I got a high-end comp last week, so I could play The Sims 2&3 flawlessly.(And some other games in future.)

Anyhow, now The Sims 2 isn't working properly. The water is nontransparent blue and landscape looks.. well ugly :).
The problem seems to be that the shaders and some other advanced graphical features aren't working.
After 3hours of intensive googling and trying things like: http://www.modthesims.info/wiki.php?title=Game_Help:Bump_Maps_and_Shaders im getting hopeless.

Anyone who's had similar problems or knows something about this please reply.

System Specs:

CPU: Intel i7-2700K @ 3.5Ghz
RAM: 8gb DDR3 1333Mhz
GFX: Ati Radeon HD 7970 3gb GDDR5
OS: Win 7 Pro 64bit

Try updating your graphics driver (http://www.modthesims.info/wiki.php?title=Game_Help:Graphics_Cards#Downloading_New_Graphics_Drivers). As mentioned in that wiki, you might also want to try deleting My documents/ EA Games/ The Sims2/ Config/ userprops.xml
