View Full Version : Mod for less sleep?

Hello!
I'm looking for a mod which allows Sims to sleep around half the time they normally need to (around 4 hours a night would be perfect). The reason is I'm having the (apparently common) problem where the ultra speed button isn't very fast at all, and I have to wait a very long time for my Sims to finish sleeping every night.
Alternatively, if anyone knows any other clever workarounds for this I'd be very grateful to hear them!
Thank you.

Are you open to cheats? Like not having to sleep, period?

That's a possibility, and I have seen that there's a cheat which allows you to drag the energy slider up. However, having to do this every single night when my Sim gets tired is going to get quite tiring. So it's a possibility but I'd much rather a mod which lets the sleeping process go faster.
On a side note, the latest expansion I have is Late Night. I've heard that there was a patch to fix the ultra speed problem, so should this have been resolved on my game if I have Late Night installed?

I did see that one. It doesn't quite solve the issue though because at some point they will still have to sleep and it will be slow.
And yes, ultraspeed is the problem.

Aha. So you've heard of one of them.
I'm going to go ahead and assume that for all of these, you need to enable testing cheats. Hopefully you can do that, I don't know.
You can control click away those moodlets, and it'll raise it to the point they aren't tired / hungry etc.
You can shift click the mailbox, and either
-make needs happy (they'll decrease normally, but be maxed out)
-make needs static. This will make them all happy, then keep them like that. It'll reset each playing session, but it's amazing when it's working. Personally, I always use this cheat. I'm sorry, but I don't know how the hell they have to piss every 5 minutes.
If you like the whole realistic (lol you don't need to piss every 6 min irl but okay) gameplay, I think control clicking might be the best bet for you. It sounds more like sleeping is your biggest issue, just because you aren't complaining about others. What might also work would be control clicking the moodlet away for a little, allowing them to sleep for a few hours.. and then dragging the bar.

Ahh, okay. So basically with this cheat enabled I just control click the sleepy moodlet and they'll be up to full energy? I kind of hoped there was a way to do this without micromanaging so much but that sounds like an okay workaround. Thank you. :)
If anyone does know of a mod which makes beds give you more energy or anything similar please do let me know! Thanks!

Not full, but enough they won't have the moodlets.
The only one I've seen is that they all have the same benefits. (Like, crap bed = orgasmic bed in terms of energy.)

I already saw those, thank you though!
I think I'm just suffering from the problem a lot of people seem to be having where the ultra speed button does the same as the fast speed button, so time can never really go very fast in-game. It's such a shame because it makes a great game pretty annoying!

I noticed when I got a new computer, with much better specs, time seemed to be better? Could be your computer needs upgrading?

Could be. The annoying thing is I easily meet the minimum system requirements so it should run fine.
