What do I need to do to add the scripts to blender to enable it to read .MS3D and .SMD files to allow for pose creation.
I have version 2.6.2 and have so far followed this tutorial...

cheers,
deltic9016The adult rigs available at this point are not compatible with the .smd tool for Blender 2.60 and up. If you want to use them you will need to get Blender 2.59 and the version of the smd tools for Blender at this link:
http://code.google.com/p/blender-sm...-1.zip&can=1&q=
It is version 1.0.
Also, the link to the tutorial you're using isn't working for me so I can't look at it. If it wasn't written for Blender there's one on the Wiki that is.

Try this link: http://simswiki.info/wiki.php?title=Tutorial:Sims_3_Making_Poses
I can't get the link you posted to work either!
The addons aren't showing in the list.

I can't get the link you posted to work either!I just realized my link wasn't working :P Try this one:
http://code.google.com/p/blender-smd/downloads/list?can=1&q=&colspec=Filename+Summary+Uploaded+ReleaseDate+Size+DownloadCount
You'll need to scroll through the list and pick 1.0. Actually, instead of using the wiki Blender tutorial you should use the one that's currently at the top of the list in the Tutorials section here at MTS. It has more current links to Blender rigs.

I'm not sure what you mean by.MS3D patch. But you don't need to use a .ms3d for Blender poses.

How do I move the grey ball things aroundand how do I make the person stand upright?, also for some reason it doesn't look like a person like in the tutorials!
How do I export it to the desktop, it doesn't do anything!

How do I export it to the desktop, it doesn't do anything! The tutorial I linked tells you how to move the grey balls and has pictures to illustrate the steps. I'm not sure what you mean by the person not standing upright. You should be using the a_xevt 701 CLIP and that one, when turned into a .smd, will show up in Blender in a standing position. When you say it doesn't look like a person could you show a pic of what you mean?

I think I got it, when I found the mesh file and put that in it seems to look better

Now when converting it back to a clip it says "unable to open file..."

I think there is a problem with animtool as a can't even convert the unedited .smd file back to a .animation, is there a different version as this one won't let me do anything anymore?

If you have further questions I'm more than happy to help you in the tutorial thread.
