Sims 3 - Game Problems
Please go through this FAQ and follow the instructions, doing each step in order and not skipping anything:
Game Help:Sims 3 Game Problem
Most issues with the game can be resolved by following those steps.
I see you have CC. Is it the same on default EA items? And when there's no CC? Done the above FAQ?
What patch level for base game? Do you have just the base game or all addons, ie all EPs + SPs?
What OSX version? Does it also have switchable Intel HD graphics, other than that Radeon HD 6970M? And you're confirmed on using the Radeon instead of the Intel, when simming?

I haven't tred to delete all custom content to see if game works fine...because sometimes it will take 30min or even more for this kinda thing to show up. It happens on sims without CC as well.
Patch 1.33 I have all EP and no SP
OS version 10.7.3
How can I check this?
"Does it also have switchable Intel HD graphics, other than that Radeon HD 6970M? And you're confirmed on using the Radeon instead of the Intel, when simming?"
What I\ve tried is deleting cache files, then removing saves and mods folder, then turning game on, then exit it and put all files back. At least thats what they suggested on russian thesims3 forum about error 12.

Okay. Just quick update.
Since I've deleted all CC, I don't have this problem anymore, but another one came next.
Game goes off and my mac gets really hot.
3,1 Ghz Intel Core i5
4 Gb 1333 MHz DDR3
AMD Radeon HD 6970M 1024 MB
Mac OS X Lion 10.7.3 (11D50d)
Game starting to have white spots which looks like clouds on top of screen.
I can't save it, as it gives me error 12 ( I tried all FAQ things which i founf here and all over internet about error 12) and then after few minutes its just goes off.
Any help?

To see if you have switchable graphics, could you post your full specs (Apple icon in the top left > About this mac > more info, then copy and paste what it says in Hardware Overview and Graphics). This (http://www.modthesims.info/wiki.php?title=Game_Help:TS3_Save_Errors) FAQ has some useful information about error 12.
What do you mean by "it goes off"? Does the game crash? Do you get an error message? Or is the entire computer shutting down?

Is this your iMac? http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/imac/stats/imac-core-i5-3.1-27-inch-aluminum-mid-2011-thunderbolt-specs.html
And from that specs, it doesn't appear that this iMac has switchable graphics.
If the machine gets hot during usage, you should call Apple for support (especially if the machine is still under warranty). Does it get hot or crash only when playing Sims? Is it OK when watching HD movies? Playing other games? During regular usage?
The 6970 does run hotter than other GPUs, you might want to start monitoring temperatures when playing Sims. But I would suggest again to hound Apple Support to provide driver updates - a lot of these "iMac" "6970M" "hot" "crash" threads in forums when I did a search. http://bit.ly/GMTSB7
What settings are you playing on? Have you tired tweaking the options to lower some of them? Especially the graphics-intensive ones, like water and reflections, Lots size, textures.
Was the CC that improve game by its removal a makeup item or the hair?

It gets hot only when I play sims.
I'll check settings and will make them lower, will post report later.
I couldn't find CC as I had too many, so I just deleted all of it.
