Bugged Bug Collecting

The other problem I have is it seems impossible to collect all the bugs. In the bug box there is 30 bugs but strangely there's an empty 31st pin. When the sim views the bug box she thinks there is one missing and counts it as 29 instead of 30. I spent days real time trying to find that last bug just to see if anything happened when you complete the set.

Is there a fix for this and does anything miraculous happen? I suppose if it is impossible with no fix nobody would know if anything happens. I'd expect going to all the trouble of doing it would be deserving of something.

That was a bug bug (so to speak!) that was fixed with the Freetime patch.
"Socialus Butterfly" can now be caught for the Bug Collection.

Really? What a shame! Is this a fix you've made, Cyjon?

Yes. I've known about it for a while and just recently finally looked into it. It looks like that piece of AL was taken from the original FT code instead of the patched code. Makes me wonder how many other FT patch fixes were undone in AL.

And of course this applies to anyone using Mansions & Gardens as well, since that was based off AL code.

Yes I have both AL and M & G. Fixing it sounds like a tough job. Do you know why there is a 31st pin? I had read "Socialus Butterfly" was the problem and having my sim veiw the bug box there is a butterfly missing, however inspecting it on the wall all ten butterflies have been collected. The missing bug is actually an eleventh bug in the spider set on the right.

Bug Collection Fix (http://drupal.cyjon.net/node/418). Or if you are sick of the constant bee attacks you could instead get No Bug Hunting Bees (http://drupal.cyjon.net/node/266), which both fixes the collection and eliminates the bees.

@Josephina - It was definitely the Socialus Butterfly that was affected. If you are missing another, then that is just probability mocking you. It takes FOREVER to get that last bug but it is achievable.

And there are definitely 30 bugs, 10 of each. The display even says at the top "X of 30 Complete".

It is the Socialus butterfly that's missing, it's just left of center when veiwing the bug box. I can breath calmly now there is no 31st pin.

Worked for me. Thank you Cyjon. It says I have all 30 bugs when viewing the box. The extra spider pin still has no bug. I wish we could start a mass global protest to demand EA answer why it's there. It's really "bugging" me. Such is life.
