I get a little upset when I hang out with my bf only because I have this awesome plan for a sim and Im so excited to play it and I have to wait lol.

Can anyone say obsessed!

Of course if I had a much more busier life I wouldn't be playing them as much so I'm enjoying it while I can :)

I have said Degg Degg instead of goodbye....

I look at downloads of CC at work to get them at home to start using them......

I'm upset I can NOT load all of my TS2 games, eps. and stuff packs at wotk......

I get upset that one of my neighborhoods is corrupted.....

I held wake at home when one of my long played sims passed.....

I find my SIM versions of friends sometimes more interesting.......

I'm trying to make a recolorable version of my car......

And - I want to use the "motherlode" cheat in real life.....

I use TS2 in my classes to teach and develop all sorts of skills:

- reading skills
- social skills
- housing and facilities
- managing budgets
- maths...

It promotes concentration and creativity and it gives the kids a sense of the cost of life! I teach special ed and this game has proven to be a great teaching tool in so many levels!

Of course this is not playing the way I like to do it, so I try to play a little at home everyday. When life and work get in the way and I can't play for a long time, I tend to miss my sims as if they were real people! :faceslap:

Me, myself, and I and my shadow have been playing the Sims 2 since 2006. Don't you think that is a bit to much to be playing the Sims that long? I have come to the conclusion that I am just simple and plain addicted. and maybe seriously need :help:

Oh ... I've been playing since 2006 as well. First, Sims 1 briefly on console, and more recently, on my netbook (I play Sims 1 when I travel, since Sims 2 is too much for my little machine) ... then Sims 2 since 2006 ... and Sims 3 on console since 2010 (though I haven't done that recently, and would like to get back to it. It at least gives me a small "taste" of what Sims 3 is like, which I haven't bought for PC for several reasons.). Oh .... and does Sims Social on Facebook count?

Yup, I'm a Sims addict. But the most addictive of the bunch to me is Sims 2. And I haven't even bought any new expansions since Seasons. I did try looking on various shopping sites for other EPs, since my computer is old and already Suckurommed for a reason that wasn't even my fault ... what would the harm be now, five years later? However, the price for certain Sims 2 expansions, including BV are through the roof right now! And many of the more reasonably-priced ones are in short supply. Oh, well.

Does THAT tell you how popular Sims 2 still is now, even though EA has deemed it obsolete? There are an awful lot of Sims 2 addicts still out there. And yes, I'm one.

Honestly, if I were EA, I'd issue some sort of Sims 2 "flashback" series with all the EPs ... maybe just offer them for download only, but without the infamous DRM that many despised ... but that is a topic for another thread.

Oh, and I find that that dogs go crazy in real life when you look at them and say "Woofum!" in your very best Sim voice. When I watch college sports, I can't fight the urge to cheer, "Go ... GERBITS!" Sometimes, I utter "bogensnot" in disgust when I don't want to say anything stronger. And my kids sometimes do the Sims interaction for "I'm really hungry" when I'm late with dinner.

Nah ... I'm not addicted.

When my fiance wants some couples time with me, he asks me if I want to "woohoo".

I've been TS2 since release day, 2004. I've never taken more than a month break. Even when I am not playing, I am reading Sims sites and/or downloading.

I play, read, download or do something Simming related every single day. It is just part of my daily routine. Like I mentioned in an earlier post, I am not sure how I am going to do on our week-long honeymoon in July! No simming! Ack!

Right now I am working on building my second custom hood from the ground-up. I think it will take about the same time it took to build my first hood - now 6 years old - three months.

Maybe you can re-create wherever you go on your honeymoon on the sims so at least when you're over there you can think 'Hey I can build that when I get home' and make little rough drafts on the napkins or anything else. :P

Well, most days I wake up and turn the main desktop on, play sims all day, turn the desktop off, turn laptop on and sit in bed and play sims for several more hours, lol.

I've played the Sims for about 3 years now but only when a friend has it etc. etc. but just recently as in Christmas, I finally got a computer that can run the Sims 2. (Only had hand me downs up till this point and sadly all had broken disc drives.) So I got the game, became addicted, bought all the expansions when my birthday rolled around in February (Thank god for the EA Origin store, don't even want to know the pain of tracking down hard copies.) and have been insanely addicted ever since with my longest break being about a week and a half before Resident Evil came out. :)

P.S. Why does CC have to be even more addicting!!! :(

Right now I play about an hour per day. Some weeks ago I decided to take a long break from the game - it worked for a week or so, then I ended up missing the game very much and couldnīt stay away from it anymore... But I play much less now than before I decided to take that break. Back then it was like 2-4 hours each day. Now I see my simming time as a reward, something I can do after I have done what Iīm supposed to do in RL.

I still think a lot about my sims during the day. Especially when Iīm trying to sleep in the night. I have found it very relaxing and nice to just think about what plans I have for my different sims. I normally donīt like to go to bed early, but if I have something interesting to think about (right now itīs still mostly sims ;) ), it actually makes it a bit more appealing.

For a very long time I played a lot. Then I took a two month break and now I probably play about 12 hours every other week.

Does it mean I play too much when I go to my closet and want to click on "Change into everyday" as opposed to opening it and selecting clothes?

Now I have almost no time to play at all. Coming home at about 19:00, sometimes later, doesn't allow me to play much. I just check the mail, check some forums, etc.

It was great working at home, that's what I realized.

I play when real life doesn't interfere, like having to work. Because I recently returned to more hours this past winter, I didn't realize how hard the addiction was. I'm constantly thinking of ways to play the game on my way to work (I walk), and figuring out who does what to whom. It helps pass the time while strolling along.

I play about 4 hours every day-and I'll get up early in the morning to 'make the rounds' for CC scouting, put it into my downloads folder and then play when I have a chance. Some nights I don't even get home until 8:30, so I have to wait until at least 9 to even turn the computer on!

How pathetic...but fun!

I just had my first baby the 9th of this month so my simming has taken a major hit. Before I would play from the time I woke up until my husband got home from work but now I take much needed naps instead of taking my free time to play with my lil Simmies. Not to say that I don't still get in at least five hours a day in when my husband works overtime but considering what I used to play it is killing me...lol

5 hours is still a pretty good amount considering you just had a baby lol!

Only couple of minutes, maybe an hour or two, but nothing too long. *sigh* I wish I was back in the younger days, when I was addicted to playing and even tried to beg my mom to let me stay up past my bed time to play...I wish the addiction was still alive. Now that I've gotten new games, I've been sort of abandoning my sims...but I don't want to. Expansion packs are hard to come by in stores and things like CC and mods are the only things that keep things going.

I used to suffer from insomnia - a nasty problem of every Nervous Subject - and only imagining that I'm actually in my Sim hood, walking down the streets, meeting my Sims and chatting with them about their little pixel lives was ever able to calm me enough to put me to sleep. I have no more sleeping problems atm, but I still have the ritual before falling asleep - I imagine myself in my hood and with my Sims every night and that makes me safe and sleepy and warm. It really is a god-send, this game, for my excitable nerves.

ETA: The original question - I forgot to answer it.
I don't play as much as I used to right now, but that's just because I still haven't put together a satisfying game plan (you know, the rules, the hood lay-out, the economy/politics model, etc.) But that's okay, since I love putting those things together in my head even when I'm not actually playing the game. I have it loaded in windowed mode all the time though, so that when I do come up with an idea I can instantly implement it or check it out.

Well, I get home at around 4:00pm on most nights (Tues-Thurs). I usually then play from 4:15 (homework, ugh, where is my boolprop testingcheatsenabled true > spawn > scenario tester > add me to private school (=no homework or school :D) to roughly 8:30-9:00. 4 1/2 to 5 hours... lol.
On weekends, I rise around 7:00. I play until 12:00-2:00am, coming out for a meal/snack/soda.
BUT I'M SO NOT OBSESSED.
NO.
NOPE.

It varies really, sometimes I can play all night and only come out of my playing when it's light outside all dazed and confused! lol Although I'm out all day during the week, I don't have friends in real life so at the weekends I can usually be on the game for quite a few hours.

Sad I know lol

I'm building my next home PC to exceed the specs of the next add on or stuff packs.

I have every EP of TS1 TS2 and most of TS3. (Superstar and one of the stuff packs I need)

I modified my current home PC to meet the specs of TS3 as well as play TS2 better.

I've watched game play videos on you tube for tips and tricks.

I'd be delighted to meet the Sim version of most people who post here in my hood, probably terrified to meet them in person.

When my Sim self "woohoo's" with another, my GF considers it a form of cheating (I kid you not on this one) in a strange sense.

Obsessed? Me? Nah.

I play most evenings when my daughter's gone to bed. Double-click as bedtime starts, and by the time I've read her a story, it's ready to play. The evenings I'm not playing are spent 'housekeeping', that is, sorting all all the new downloads I've acquired. XD

Once a week. If there's an exam in the near future, then I would hold it until the following week or after the exam.

I've have been a Sims addicted since 2006, I first played my Aunt's Sims then I discovered the Sims 2, oh, my holy temple, I was addicted. And right now I usually play about two hours a day (it use to be five or six, I'm getting better), but back in the day, I use to only stop to eat or use the bathroom...or do my chores, but only after my mom reminded me five times.
