I was thinking of making a small animal zoo on one of my lots, but I didn't want the sims who owned the lot to have to go around feeding and restocking the zoo all the time. When animals are on a community lot, do you have to take care of them as if they were home?

I don't want to get a mod to make them immortal, because I don't want that to be part of the game EXCEPT for the fishtanks and pet terrariums at the zoo.

I've never had small pets on an owned community lot, but I have had aquariums, and the owners never had to feed them. The option is there, but my Sims would not visit the lot for generations and the fish neverdied or needed their tank cleaned. Probably the same with the small pets.

Well, if you don't want to experiment on the cute, furry little creatures (who always bite you, if you don't mod that behavior out), you could try this http://modthesims.info/download.php?t=460711 so the poor dears don't accidentally get claimed by the Reaper (wait, even the reaper doesn't bother with the little pets).
