Game restarts my pc after 10min of playing

Hi.

I have searched and read and clicked until my eyes bleed and my brain explodes.

I am not very technical when it comes to anything game technical. (I'm a plug and play kinda girl)

My sims3 is having issues, it crashes and just restarts my pc about 10minutes into playing! I've checked all CC and nothing is popping. I've run without CC and still my pc will just restart itself once I start playing.

This is ruining my simming life!! :cry: Is there anybody out there that can help me with this?

I have all EP & Stuff packs, i'm updated to latest patch. I have win7 and a graphics card/pc system that is Nasa quality.

Edit: OR is just restarts my pc while it's loading! I cleared cache things as well.

A NASA computer really wouldn't be very well suited to playing Sims 3 - incompatible OS, for one thing. ;)

Well, I think you have a very low opinion of NASA. ;)

You have Windows 7 32-bit there, which is unfortunate, since 32-bit can't use all your RAM - which means in effect that you don't have enough RAM to play the game smoothly, and even if you installed more RAM, you still wouldn't have enough. That shouldn't cause computer restarts, though.

Your graphics driver is very out of date, so updating that is the first thing to try: it's the first download here (http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/windows/Pages/radeonaiw_vista32.aspx).

Do you play any other games, apart from TS3? If so, do you have similar problems with those games?

Once you've updated your graphics driver, try playing again. If you still have the same problem, do the following:
In some cases, game bugs/crashes/general computer issues can be caused by your computer overheating. To ascertain whether or not overheating is a cause of your problem, please follow these steps:

Firstly, download and install HWMonitor (http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/hwmonitor.html). Run the program - you should see lots of numbers; if you don't know what any of them mean, don't worry - you don't have to. :)

With HWMonitor running, use your computer normally for twenty or thirty minutes - no games, just browsing the web, using IM, playing minesweeper etc - and at the end of the twenty or thirty minutes, take a screenshot of the HWMonitor window and save it.

Then do the same again, keeping HWMonitor open, while you play Sims for twenty to thirty minutes. If your game is crashing before the thirty minutes is up, just play until it crashes. If your computer is freezing, shutting down, or restarting itself, play for as long as you think you can before the freeze/shutdown/reboot, then quit the game. Take another screenshot of the HWMonitor window.

Finally, attach both screenshots to a post in this thread - you can upload them to photobucket or tinypic etc, or you can hit "Go Advanced" in the Quick Reply box and use manage attachments to upload them to MTS.

My partner plays other games, he says it's never happened while he's playing.

Should I uninstall his stuff and see if that helps?

She was asking if those games have similar problems - uninstalling them won't fix anything with TS3, but if those games also restart the PC, it would tend to indicate more of a systemic issue than a TS3-specific one.

He has: Fable: The lost Chapters....Daiblo II: Lord of Destruction.....Overlord....Devil may cry: spc ed......Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six 2 & Hitman Blood Money.

I recently had to uninstall and reinstall my entire sims3 after accidentally deleting the wrong things (tried to clear cache) and having to much cc that didn't work due to Pets bugger up.

Once i had new cc I ran Delphy's Dashboard. It threw out all the bad stuff as far as I can tell. Was reading online a few people seem to be having the same problems in various degree's. From game just crashing (that used to be my problem) to full on pc restart.

I didn't have this problem until I installed Showtime + patches. I'm starting to think EA once again released stuff before thoroughly checking it for bugs. Either that or something somewhere has installed itself, latched onto my game, and I just don't know how to find it. :faceslap:

I'm going to cry! :cry:

Ran the thinger and took 3 shots.
1 is while my playing plants vs zombies.
2 is while Sims was loading and
3 was about 5 minutes after Sims loaded to her house.

I also have a new pop message now when my pc restarts. It says: "kdbsync.exe has stopped working" :faceslap:

At this rate, someone might have to just do a fun little internet access and work magic.

I'm also wondering if there's a way that something custom is causing this and it's latched on somewhere. (even though fail without cc) Is there a way to run a sims3pack clean thing? I know there's custard, it will take me YEARS to check one by one. I did dashboard and it's all clear. (one good thing)

Holy bejeezus, 114C?!?! I'd love to know why you have 2 CPUTINs and 2 AUXTINs, and why none of them match their pairs or any other value given... I think I may have to wait for someone smarter to figure that one out, though :p . However, if your thermos are reporting 114C, it may well be that your motherboard's "Save me!" routine is kicking in and causing the shutdown - I'm just not sure I believe that that reported temperature can possibly be correct...

Whiterider I also hope the temp is wrong. This thing has fans coming out of it's wazoo. Though the guy that built my pc is coming tomorrow. He thinks it might be graphics related, as pc seems to crash only on Sims (which is high). It shouldn't be doing that as he built this pc to sims speck with enough room to add up to 16G of ram and one of the best graphics cards he could find in Cape Town. Though now we might also unintall and reinstall 64bit.

And I have no idea what Cputins and auxtins are, but I'll be sure to ask tomz ;)

Sooo.....updating audio drivers over the weekend. found a forum online who's pc was doing what mine was doing while he was playing music and stuff like that.
And as for to CPUTINS and AUX thingers, apparently tis cause I have dual stuffs. (Such technical language I use.)

If ALL else fails, there will be a uninstall and reinstall of 64bit happening. (dammit, I just did all this a month ago).

Those temps are after you've updated AMD drivers to Catalyst 12.3?

After reading about CPUTINS and AUXTIN, I don't think those are the temps to look at, and as the CPU temp is still below the max recommended by Intel for this CPU (69.1°C) as is the max GPU temp (89°C), I believe overheating is not the issue here. Though it wouldn't hurt to get 2nd/3rd opinions with other Temp capture utilities.

If after the OS reinstall, this still happens, make sure to turn off Autorestart so you have a chance to see the BSOD HEX code. If not, you can still go to Event Viewer and locate the log and see what errors were last recorded at the time of crash and before the system restart.

As for the game crashing - you've done the Crashing Checklist? Link is in my signature.
Done DEP and all that stuff?

Hi Ella. My pc guy was here on Thursday and he checked the Event viewer and error logs. Found an Apple something that was making it critical (dam apple installs everything incl the kitchen sink). And something else he has no clue what/where it comes from. But somehow managed to make it all go away.

He also says overheating can't be the problem, not with 4 fans in all the right places. If I could get my internet to co-operate, to install the audio update we can take it from there. (SA internet is the worst on the planet) It crashed the download over the weekend, so have to restart & according to the download thing it will take 2 days to download the 100mb.

With the Internet speed you reported, I doubt using remote software is going to be a troublesome-free experience for both parties. ;)

Sometimes having too many fans do more harm than good. Because it swirls the air inside the case inside of a quick suck in of cold air, have that flow through all the hot components on its way out and exhaust out the hot air.

What's the issue now? Still restarting? Your tech guy found no issues with it? Has the driver download complete? And drivers updated?
If still restarting, have you turn off Autorestart? Event Viewer does not still show the same thing causing the crashes, does it?
You've tried turning off background processes as one of the steps in the Crashing Checklist (link in my signature)?

Urm, what system is this, again? Could you post the specs as shown in the Form so we don't have to redownload the file each time we revisit this thread, please?

So fun times, I deleted neighborhood and re started new neighborhood worked fine (ie decorated house). Weird thing....it didn't restart my pc. Then when I saved and quit and went back, it restarted. Almost as if the saving of the game is what glitched it.

Though the other day, I opened about 20 tabs on internet explorer, watched media player and played solitaire at the same time and down she went. Gonna do an unintall of Sims tonight and start re installing again. Maybe a bug worked it's way in. (usually takes me about a week to get everything back in)

Scrapping the uninstall and going to do a full system reinstall to 64bit Win7. It started crashing my Bf's game now as well. He plays Rainbow six. Though again, he's played it before and it was fine until I installed Sims3 again incl Showtime. :( Such a bummer.

This is a long shot, but I remember reading while having issues with the sims 3 and saints row the third crashing my pc that certain motherboards with older bios... well you can read the thread here:

If you have one of those motherboards you could try updating the bios as a last resort if re-installing windows doesn't help.

It didn't solve my problem, I found out my pc had issues with the video files in certain games, and removing them (or avoiding the intro in the sims 3) stopped my pc from crashing, although since you say you can play the game for a while at times, I'm fairly certain that won't be your problem.

My old computer would randomly reboot because it has hardware problems. I upgraded it from Windows xp to Windows 7 32 bit but some of the chipsets don't have drivers for windows 7 so I lost some USB ports, etc and the upgrade has a lot to do with the bugginess of that computer. I thought it was a video card (which finally died) but it still reboots randomly and especially when running sims 3 because sims3 is a memory hog and it will trip and hardware problems your machine has. I have a new computer now and it works like a charm albeit a bit slow (it's porked out on cc lol)
