I'm not sure if its possible but I wanted to own another house to make into a garage style home to store all my cars in. I know I can own another house in another world but I wanted to do this in my current world and not a vacation home.

I would normally do this in my current lot but do not have nearly enough room to do so and not sure about making it underground...

Any inputs???

you could try zoning the lot in edit town to ownable lot, instead of regular lot. Then, try to purchase it if is it possible. have not yet tried this though. but it would not hurt trying this.

EDIT: or maybe zone a small land to a small park or something and build there, and pretend that is is your second home, or something.

You should be able to purchase and build on a community lot if you have Ambitions or higher. Just be sure to zone it as "No Visitors" if you don't want the community stopping by to gawk at your cars.

The only thing is that Small Parks and No Visitors Allowed lots cannot be owned, they are not for sale.
The best thing would be if someone came up with a mod (hint hint :heyhey:) that allows purchasing vacation homes in home worlds, as you can own multiples of these.

Correct me if Im wrong but isnt "Zoning" a TS2 thing.... I cant seem to figure out how to "ZONE" and set to "No Visitors" in TS3...

So I take it then there is no way to make this happen unless there is a mod huh... That sucks...

Zoning is a TS2 and a TS3 thing. In Edit Town, you can select a lot, and change the Lot Type - no visitors allowed is one of the options.

Yeah. Just curious why you can own more than one home in vacation worlds but not in your homeworld? I'm sure if this were easy to mod, twallan and others would've already done so. Something just inherently complicated with the coding?

Well maybe if there is enough direct interest we can make this happen... Hopeful thinking...
