View Full Version : Body Shop won't save sims

I can't create new sims in Body Shop anymore. Or I can, it's just that Body Shop won't save them. Has anyone else had that problem? The game itself loaded just fine but there were some striped, flashing forests in the neighbourhood so I quit the game without trying to load any households.

Does anyone have an idea what could be wrong?

Please try everything in the game problem guide:
Game Help:Game Problem

Also this may help:

I read through both of those help pages but my problem wasn't listed on either. I've had different problems with the game along the years, and usually removing some of my CC has solved the problem. Body Shop failing to save sims is an issue I haven't had before.

I was wondering if the problem could be that I have too many downloads? (I have over 7000.)

If you actually do the problem guide, you will find out pretty quickly whether your problem is to do with CC or not.

That's the point of the problem guide- to determine if it is a user data or game data problem, so we don't have to wonder. ;)

I know, it's just that going through all those steps is a huge effort to someone who's not very computer savvy, and not keen on fiddling with computery stuff. I mean, come on, the reason I have a mac is that I thought it would come with the intuitive operating system! And I have no complaints about OS X, I've been able to use it without reading a single manual! But since I got the Sims 2, I've had to learn all kinds of technical problem solving skills instead of just having fun and playing the game. If the game wasn't as much fun as it is, I would have abandoned it the first time it refused to load.

But anyway, I removed my historical CC that I'm not using at the moment. I haven't checked if the flashing forests are still there but at least Body Shop has returned to normal, so it seems exceeding the file limit was the problem. I wish I would have thought of that at first but I never had a problem like this before.

So, if anyone else has the same problem, try removing some downloads.

What do you want us to do, come around to your house and do it for you?

Yes, removing out of date or conflicting CC would help- it's part of the article I linked you to. The Game Problem guide is done step by step with images- so if you actually tried it, I bet it wouldn't be as difficult as you think. ;)
