I read about how to download custom content, but how do you make your own? Do you download a random piece of cc and then your game will let you do it? Also on a similar topic, does custom content allow you to make your sims eyes two different colors, or is there a mod for that? I know you can make your pets have different colored eyes, but I was hoping to make a sim with them and some custom content. So if anyone can please explain how I can A.) make my own custom content, and B.) let me know if there is a way to get different colored eyes and how I would do it I would be much abliged. Thank you for your help! Edit: I have found something that will give my sims different colored eyes and am attempting to download and install it. Hopefully I succeed.

As far as making your own custom content goes, that depends on what you want to make. Making custom lots and sims is pretty intuitive, if not easy. Retexturing objects, clothes and so on, or making objects, clothes etc with a new mesh (shape), is done by using various tools and programs you can download. We have lots of tutorials on how to do that - have a look at all the stuff under the Create menu at the top of the page. :)

There's no way of giving your sims two different coloured eyes, unfortunately. I've been working on it for years now, I might get it finished eventually :p .

I've made an accessory eye mesh that gives your sim two different colour eyes: http://www.modthesims.info/d/403048 . You have your sim wear it like glasses or earrings, so you need to apply it for each outfit in CAS so that the eyes don't change back to default when the sim changes clothes.

As Whiterider says, take a look under the Create menu / Sims 3 / Tutorials and you'll find an index page for various tutorials for all the types of custom content you might want to try making. Each tutorial will usually tell you which tools you need to make that particular type of item. And then if you get stuck while trying to make your new item, you can ask advice in the Sims 3 Creation forum: http://www.modthesims.info/forumdisplay.php?f=593 , posting in the subforum for whichever type of item you're working on, eg CAS Parts, Object Creation, etc.
