o.k. hopefully I'm in the right section for this. I tried doing a search but didn't quite find what I was looking for. I played my game on Thursday. I had no issues that day. I saved my game and quit. Today when I go in I decided to start a new game. I went to create a new family which went fine. When I went to move them into a house only two houses showed up on the map for them to move in to and there were no options for empty lots. However, I should clarify that I can see the entire town it just would only let me choose one of two houses to move my newly created family. I picked one of the houses moved them in and then the game said welcome to the sims 3 tutorial. I exited it out of that but then I noticed some of the game options have changed. The sim lifespan was set back to normal, which I had adjusted previously. Story progression was enabled and it wasn't before. The option to 'share' info with EA is checked. I can go in and uncheck it but when I go back into that option it's checked again. My video option to have sound enabled was set to disabled. The sound options were not changed. The only thing under graphic options that was changed was the screen resolution. So I'm wondering what could have happened and how can I get the options that I want unchecked to remain unchecked?

Sims 3 - Game Problems
Please go through this FAQ and follow the instructions, doing each step in order and not skipping anything:

Game Help:Sims 3 Game Problem
Most issues with the game can be resolved by following those steps.

Are you out of Tutorial mode, already then?

This is still vanilla settings, no CC? Then just remove the Options.ini and start over? Sounds like the settings got messed up. Be sure to remember to go to Edit Town to exit Tutorial mode, and then go to Options. Save, Quit and try loading again

If the tweaks you did before were still not retain at the next load of the game, do step#3 of the above FAQ and repeat the above.

Remember though, that if this occurs right after installing a new add-on, then it is natural. The installation always resets the Options.

Thank you for your help. I'm still having the same issue but I've decided since the game is playable, I'll just leave well enough alone.
