Hi
I decided to reinstall my Sims 2 games. I have all the EPs and SPs and have NO cc.
The game loads up fine, and I can play ok. However, when I go to save one of the newer neighbourhoods (eg Beledona Cove) whilst it says it is saved when I play again the lot is back at the beginning with nothing saved. When I play one of the original neighbourhoods everything works fine.
I do hope someone can help. I am stuck!

Perhaps you don't have enough memory in your hard drive. It needs sufficient amount of memory in order to save (but I don't know how many). If your memory is insufficient, you cannot save the game. The thing is, even if you save the game and it looks normal, the game is actually not saved.

Hmm, worked fine before, also the older neighbourhoods to save.

Is it possible that you've set the "read-only" flag by accident, either on the lot file itself or on the neighborhood folder or Lots subfolder?
Have you tried turning on debug mode, to see whether any errors are generated during the save?

I'm not sure to be honest. Could you let me know I would check that? Many thanks for helping.

Right click on folder/subfolder. Select "Properties." Look at little box next to "Read-only." If it's checked, it can't be written to.
To turn on debug mode, Ctrl + Shift + C, type in boolprop testingcheatsenabled true, enter. Do it when you first open the neighborhood. This allows you to do a number of things if you know how, but for the moment all you want to do is check whether and under what conditions it gives you pop-up error reports, so just do a test session, a little normal play, and then hit save. Copy down any messages you get (they won't mean much to you, as they're in computerese) and report back.

Thanks. I'll give that ago. Oh, I've not actually received any error messages so far. Will come back soon.
