Sims 3 game VERY slow after mod uninstallation

I downloaded a mod not too long ago and it made my game painfully slow so I deleted it. When I went back to play the game, it was still really slow even though I deleted the mod. How do I make it go back to normal? I haven't installed anything else.

when you deleted the mod, did you also clear your caches? (Don't clear the DCCache; it will remove all of your sims 3 pack CC. But any of the caches that the Dashboard will offer to clear for you are safe to clear.)
