Wow lots of leaks going on with EA! April seems to be leak month, anywho a new stuff pack has been leaked supposedly Stuff Pack #7 and due for release in July? And now KPST is supposedly a Special Edition Pack and not a stuff pack...More Information here: http://simsvip.com/?p=10022

Yay, Its ironic because I am a guy and I am more psyched about this than the girl above me. Half my closet is Diesel, now my Sim's closet can be to.

Shoot! I am hyped for this, the hope for some major male clothes and more masculine types of stuff is going to make me want this more. Now KPST is a special edition and not major SP, my prayers may have been answered. I have to do more reading about this though.

I must admit men in Diesel clothing equals hawt! Yay!

Clothing can be found readily - for free - around the community. Yet another EA product I will not be buying.

I am wondering tho if they'll add any of the furniture. Still not gonna buy it if they do but curious nonetheless!

If you click the facebook link on the article included you can go to diesels Album and they apparently do INDUSTRIAL kitchen sets and modern day kitchen sets, they're as sexy as Megan Fox tbh.

Also I don't want to be a hype ruiner but we have to remember this is a rumor still and there is yet to be more information on it, since we assumed the next stuff pack would be teen stuff seeing as it won the whole poll thing, which a Diesel Stuff pack would make sense for teens but not really sure!

So far I believe this SP is the baby of IKEA and H&M now we just need a heir of Mansion & Garden Stuff.

I'm looking at www.diesel.com and a lot of their clothing styles are in denim. Looks really good for urban denizens or bottoms for rural country-folk... they also have a children's collection, also in denim mostly. Wouldn't mind if these make it into the game

Their fashions make for good casual wear, athletics and beachwear, although I would be very interested to know if they have formalwear collections.

Plenty of accessories geared for a casual look (they don't have shiny shiny jewelries)

Checked out their home collection for furnishings... their Kitchen stuff looks good for rich homes and also has some that give an industrial or utilitarian look that would be perfect for the sim who lives in an industrial(poor) or a minimalist flat/studio apartment.

The intimates for the women are too simple for me, but the one's for men looks good for the daredevil/party-animal flirty types (the Super Heroes collection), less 'Hugh heffner' and more boyish woohoo, type of thing, unlike the Master Suites stuff.

Liking the images from their textiles, makes me want to make a starving artist or Urban Casanova who lives in a poor district studio apartment or flat... Wouldn't mind at all if the Diesel stuff becomes a sims 3 stuff pack. :)

They are really rather basic looking. H&M SP was nicer because it offered more than just pants and wifebeater shirts.

I really hope they include a kitchen set or two with this pack, I LOVE their kitchens. The clothes I'm not so psyched about since I already have tons of CC and EA always finds a way to make things ugly, like midriffs and stencils. But still, this is a lot better compared to the Sweet Treats and Fast Lane crap :3

I've heard of Diesel, but only in terms of perfume. It seems a random brand to be using imo, I'm sure we don't have Diesel shops in the UK. At least with H&M, everyone knows who/what they are - they're everywhere!

Wait - they make FURNITURE?! Definitely never ever ever heard of that. I'm so confused. I've never heard of a store that does both furniture and clothes.

Diesil is a quite nice brand IMO .. but after taking a look at that pool:   OMG I wanted Louis Vuitton or Burberry

eskie227
24th Apr 2012, 2:20 PM
Somehow I don't think Louis Vuitton or Burberry would lower themselves be interested in co-marketing an SP for EA. It's not really in keeping with their high end, luxury persona, and pairing with a company that's, well, been voted as the worst company in America could affect their image.

I would have loved to see a remake of the Ikea SP, but this is a hell of a lot better that that tacky treat that's now become a "special edition". I will give EA's marketing department credit though, for re-categorizing the Katy pack after the backlash over its release. It might not be the most successful attempt at turning a lemon into lemonade, but it does show at least an attempt to respond to consumer sentiment (we HATE it! )

Unfortunately Louis Vuitton SP will be marked up more than most SP if it's ever going to happen. Not because of more content, but because it's one of the most famous and expensive brand ever known.

Maybe they'll throw in a trucker's hat for the vehicle enthusiast crowd. Not sure there is one in the RL Diesel collection, but how hard can it be? Then again, it's EA, they'll probably put a banana sofa logo on the hat.

Ha! Obviously, this stuff is popular. I would never spend over $200 for a pair of jeans, sorry. A gown for a special event..maybe. But jeans? Of course I am of the generation that saw designer jeans as something to make fun of rather than to wear. :) Amazing how many folks here say they have these clothes in their closet! I didn't know we had such an upper crust membership at MTS. :)

I don't mind having them for my sims as long as WE don't pay a premium for a stuff pack with 'Diesel" on the cover...unless it is trucks and engines. I might pay extra for that. :) Otherwise, I let it sit until it is offered free with a future EP. Better than Katy Perry one though...I wouldn't install that if someone gave it to me.

every single time someone mentions "diesel" i think of thisYeah, I was sort of expecting a stuff pack that would make our sims look like truckers, too. Maybe it's just me, but I can't see anything particularly noteworthy about the stuff on that company's site. It looks thoroughly bland and generic, devoid of any particular noteworthy character. It doesn't even look like stuff for truckers. I expected that this stuff pack would include things like a truck cab to drive around in, and maybe plastic bottles filled with urine and ziploc bags of feces. You know, trucker stuff.

Ditto.

I didn't even know that it was a clothing brand. I guess I'll be handing over my (wo)man-card.

Anyway, I was looking at their site and I just went "meh." It's... okay. I guess.

The clothes look nice on their models, but mostly because of the fact that it's worn by a model. The designs aren't really anything special. I could recreate similar looks with other CC.

But then again, I don't know anything about fashion, and don't care much for it.

25th Apr 2012, 3:37 AM
Let's see... between EA's stuff and CC, the two most designed for groups in game are adult/young adult females and males. Every other age group desperately need CAS items -- especially at the extreme ends of the spectrum.

Yet... what do the marketing geniuses at EA roll out? More clothes for adult females and males. Stuff the community can and does give us aplenty for free.

Seriously... how is this company still in business? Because the people making the marketing decisions are complete morons...

Low-end and shabby (chic) furniture. Build-mode items which complete sets EA started. NEW INTERACTIONS AND ANIMATIONS. THIS is the stuff we want, EA -- particularly that bolded one, since the community can't yet do decent interactions with animations. GIVE US STUFF THE COMMUNITY CAN'T.

What about this list is hard for EA to comprehend? Apparently everything.

BartholomewMaximillion
25th Apr 2012, 3:55 AM
... still waiting for the ultimate clutter stuff pack. This better have the basic clothes we're still lacking (decent trousers, high-waist shorts/pants, etc) because that's one more stuff pack that isn't...well, getting me excited. At all. Then again, my type of clothes are the bright and colourful kind. Now, if they called this a Kate Spade SP, I might be a bit giddy... Really, they got the wrong "Kate/Katy" brand.

Yes, more stuff so that my lower class homes can really reflect a hard life instead of the usual rich rich pseudo mcmansion stuff the usual SPs provide. Gah... Sims 2 freetime and Apartment life added so many good 'clutter' items, but sims 3 barely provides anything for that... the only things close are the newspaper seat and hay bale coffee table from showtime that double as props...

Liking that this SP may add some more of the 'normal life' things... But after looking around for more CC in the free community... what I really need are more shabby chic furnishings and INTERACTIVE stuff for my sims

I'm not SO bummed because Diesel is well-known for their men's clothing line so I hope that will be a guy-heavy stuff pack but yeah, more clothes for YAs and Adults? Really? That's what they think we need/want? When everyone is clamoring for a maternity or toddler/kid-themed SP and they come out with this. Yes, the H&M pack in TS2 was popular and well-done but still, there are so many other gaps that need to be filled in the game that this SP could have addressed.

I'll hold out my (full) judgement until I see what objects are included. Since H&M gave us objects to make our own clothing store and we KNOW that's not an option in TS3, I do hope it's objects from home collection.

Having never heard of this brand, I looked them up. Luxury clothing, really? Maybe I don't realize how much the average teenager/young adult spends on clothes, but it seems to me like EA is a little out of touch with their market. I mean, really, $200 for a pair of jeans? Who buys these things? But then, I really couldn't care less about the fashion world.

Nice job, EA, here's another pack I won't be buying.

The things I've noticed with more recent additions to the games is targeted to some people, (usually at this point in time girl between the age of 11-16) and out of that group of people, like 10% actually like it. Some of my 12-14 y.o. female cousins play sims 3 and really don't like the social features and Katy Perry branded stuff [they actually want 1D stuff :wtf: ]. But yeah, EA can't please everyone.

Well, if you ask me, they'd do well to expand their market a bit. Especially since the Sims series is played by so many people. Why not have a non-branded clothing pack for all ages and multiple income levels? That would make the game more interesting.

I can't judge the new SP untill I actually see the pictures of items they put there, but at least, this time we are going to get something realistic (as the stuff is based on a real brand). It would also be great if they focused more on male, than on female clothes, and made something cool for teens, too, as these categories definitely lack good clothes to wear. YA females can't be the only age/gender category that has enough clothes.
Anyway, I expect this to be at least a decent Sp to buy for collection, if not a "really cool" SP. Nice to know that we'll not be given fugly ginat cake-like furniture and cartoonish princess clothes, like in Sweet Treats, once again, cuz Sw Tr is an epic fail of EA, if they continue with this trend, they're about to lose a lot of their customers.

I wish they would too. Personally, I don't care if they work on something, and then cancel it - it would show their work flow, and let the consumer know what their doing. As far as diesel stuff goes, I'm looking forward to industrial furniture, and a more mail tailored pack in general, but after this, and Teen stuff, can we PLEASE get a stuff pack for Babies and Children. I've been wanting to build a nice nursery for a while, and the lack of attention to that age group is sad. When was the last time we got a crib from EA? Even if they patched in a changing table, with a large pixel for babies, and animations for toddlers to hide their maggotness, I'd be happy.

And the Elderly need love too - but outside of the stuff in generation, I'm not sure what the elderly would need, from a non-gameplay perspective.

EA couldn't AFFORD to PAY Vuitton or Burberry to come to the table let alone use them as an SP for this game. And as you already pointed out they - LV and Burberry wouldn't be interested in being affiliated with a game - it would definitely tarnish their image and rep.

As far as a clothes SP, I'd stick with the 3rd party CC that our community has to offer since they make a better product than EA. I'd be more interested in an IKEA type SP, Crate & Barrel, Williams & Sonoma... anything for home/office buy/build type SP.

If Diesel is the next SP, it's a pass for me again.

Nice job, EA, here's another pack I won't be buying.

My husband and I along with our two daughters (tween/teen) were walking through the mall. We saw a young girl about their age (12-13) walk over to a very expensive pair of shoes and say to her dad, "Can I get another pair of (designer brand name) shoes?"

I turned to my husband and said, "Aren't you glad our girls don't ask for $200 dollar shoes?"

Sorry, but while we can afford to buy 'quality' we don't encourage expensive products just because they have a name on them. My own experience with the little 'brand' dabbling I have done is that good clothes don't have to have a designer label and you pay much more for that label.

I love jeans and the Diesel designs appeal to me, but I hope they won't be peppered with labels on our sims clothes. I want to pretend these are jeans they bought on sale at Dillards. :)

BTW, I have a 24 year old daughter who is obsessed with designer labels, maybe because she lived in California with her husband for a few years. She is now in bad financial straits but STILL insists on designer clothes for her and her daughter. In fact, if I buy her baby something, it will be conveniently missing within a short time. We now buy non-clothing items for her and her child. I don't get how someone can sleep on air mattress in their apartment but wear designer clothing. Status? Low self esteem? Who knows.

We know EA is getting something for using this brand label. I am betting some advertising money is coming from Diesel to EA.

When I saw the subject title, my mind immediately jumped to semi trucks, crew cab duallies, and that super awesome actor Vin Diesel, who I think in that timeless classic of a movie called "Fast and Furious", may have piloted cars underneath semi trucks.

Looks like instead of having my sims go muddin' in monster trucks or losing digits in farm equipment accidents, they'll get to dress up in fancy schmancy hoity toity clothes instead. Woo!

I'm from California and I have no idea what the hell you are talking about. People in Beverly hills might be label concious but Californians as a group aren't anymore interested in fashion then any other general group of Americans. Why do people go on vacation to LA and then think they know something about us? :faceslap:

About the sp pack I really don't know why they choose this particular brand. The branded sps in Sims 2 where better. But I guess after the Perry sp it is a step in the right direction. Male sims could use some better jeans after all.

Wha..Wait...were paying to have Diesel advertise their stuff in our game? wow

Branded stuff should be free. They should be paying us to advertise.

Eeww. ._.
I can get clothes for free all over the rest of the internet. I don't care what brand it is, I've never even heard of Diesel. My first thought was that they were making a SP dedicated to trucking. ;-; That was a scary thought.

Why would I pay EA for it if I can get it for free?
No thanks. Try harder, EA.

The stuff looks horrible. And I don't mean the designs, either. I mean the quality of the stuff. The clothes look flat when they're not supposed to look flat. CC clothes look so much better...at least, the good ones.

I like the way they said 'A' sofa and 'A' bed, going way overboard on the furnishings then

There are, about, 15 items. Which sucks, because a lot of people wanted that kitchen set. HM stuff had more objects than this, and I'm pretty sure more clothing. I think teens got stuff too. Children, I'm not sure.

"Dress to impress! The Sims 3 Diesel Stuff Pack includes over three dozen clothing items like dresses, jackets and the brand’s iconic denim collection that allows Sims to be who they want to be whether they are cool, chic, modern or casual. Complete the look at home and give the Sims a fabulous lifestyle with over a dozen objects including coffee tables, a bed and a sofa from Diesel home collection. "

What I got from that description:
a dozen (12) x 3 = 36 clothing (adults/young adults? teen? children? elder?)
(10 or more) coffee tables, a (1) bed, a (1) sofa = over 12 objects

Total = 48 objects.

Speaking about the clothing, what I really want to say honestly, looks a bit disappointing. The clothing looks a bit flat, average model meshes, guys' clothing looks like recolor from base game clothing. Not really different model meshes. When I got H&M for TS2, I was very excited seeing various meshes and colors on each clothing. Meshes are great, the only TS2 clothing I wear on my sims are H&M.

I loathe at the grey "towel" (it looks towel for me) dress with "DIESEL" written on her chest. Looks very "cheap" and made with a little effort in my opinion. I don't mind H&M real life letters written on carpet and posters, as long it's initial letters not blatantly showing real life human words, but "DIESEL" on sims clothing in sims world?! Too much. Same clothing repetitively worn by different sims in these pictures. I suspect a few clothes included in this SP  Jumpsuit (I don't know the exact word to say that one piece women clothing) worn by sims on top left in the pic, a good looking mesh, suitable colors can make the jumpsuit looks decent.

I hope the guys' clothing having various meshes. What I've seen on TS3 Diesel pics so far on the internet, those guys wearing "average" meshes clothing: hoodies jackets, long sleeve shirts, denim jackets.. The only good looking mesh I've seen, is a black jacket worn by male sim sitting on white living chair (look at the TS3 Diesel cover pic).

I want those guys' clothing meshes look like these (from diesel.com):

Those runway shots . . . I have no words. AHAHAHAHA. Except for the last two which . . . they're okay but, um. Yeah. :P

I hope that they make an effort to make it look less like CC. Honestly, the game's aesthetic has totally changed since the basegame. Sure, it happened with TS2, but not as dramatically as this!

So, is anyone else saving a bit of money with TS3 as opposed to TS2 due to the uninspiring & lackluster SPs, or is it just me with a fatter bank account this time 'round?
Alternatively, maybe I'm just older (and "wiser") now and less inclined to simply "complete" my collection by purchasing everything EA craps out... Meh. Either way: YAY, MONEY!

But isn't EA supposed to go EP SP EP SP? Why did they go EP SP SP? WHAT IF ALL WE HAVE NOW ARE STUFF PACKS?

In my opinion the katy perry SP was a money grab.

For Sims2 I bought every EP/SP; and basically wanted them all. For Sims3 I haven't bought Master Suite Stuff, am not buying Katie Perry Crap Stuff, and won't be buying Diesel Stuff. The only reason I bought SHT was because I had a Best Buy gift card with enough $ still on it that I had no other use for at the time. Probably won't buy the "magic" EP due out; the only thing I'm looking for is a weather EP if/when it comes out.
