Stealing?

I'm a kleptomaniac and I get a wish every now and then to steal something... but I don't know how to do that. How do you do it?

While using an active Sim with such a trait, all you have to do is click on an object and a interaction will appear on the on pie menu allowing you to take that item. After clicking the interaction, the Sim should walk over to the object and a quick little animation will play. After that, the object that you stole should either be in that Sims' inventory or the family inventory.

Do take note that not all objects can be stolen.

LOL Well, more like he'll take something kind of close to that item...

Your kleptomaniac sim can only steal things after 7pm while no one is in the same room, and you can't select a specific object to steal (unless this has changed with one of the patches). Just click on the floor and your sim will have the option to "swipe something", but they can only steal three objects per night.

Weird, In my game I have the ability to steal objects I choose. Although, it could just be a hack I have installed and forgot I had installed.

Klepto sims will also occasionally come home from work or other trips with random stolen objects in their inventory... threw me a bit when the klepto in my apox challenge came home one day with a huge themepark sign apparently in his pocket. :wtf:

I've had similar happen to me, my sim one day had a big rug in her pocket..
With her i manage to snatch a big statue in a park :lol:

Wow. One of my klepto sims glitched my game by stealing her next-door-neighbours mailbox. :blink: . It was a glitch that screwed the save up a bit, but it was really funny... :rofl:

My sims always prefer to steal light fixtures.

Stereo or light fixture... going with the light fixture.
Big screen flat panel TV or light fixture... definitely light fixture.
$100k+ sports car or light fixture... hellz yeah, baby, I'm taking the light fixture!

Now, see, I have the same problem with the repoman. §300 in bills to repossess. Do I take the §300 TV? No, I'll take 10 §30 light fittings!

Lights or plumbing shouldn't even be allowed for theift or reposession, except for hot tubs of course.

Try the family inventory.

That doesn't matter. Check the family inventory under buy mode.
