Hello, hello. Today I come for your advice on my dear Carolyn sim. Seeing as I've not spent too long on her, maybe an hour or two, she's looking pretty close already!
Please be pedantic with tiny details! I really want her perfect!
You might be able to see but I haven't focussed on getting the profile right yet. Oh and the bottom hair is just so you can see the face properly.
:new: (Updated to new image; V2: 30th April.)
I don't know whether I went backwards with this...

My other reference shots are attached at the bottom.
I'll do some in-game ones at some stage; my game just takes so long to load!

For those who want to know more about her:
I put it in here, just so people who aren't interested can skip past easily. Sorry this isn't very full, this is just what I know.
Carolyn Jones, (B. 1930, d. 1983 of cancer) was famous for her portrayal of Morticia Addams in the B&W series of the Addams Family, and starred in a film alongside Elvis Presley. Unfortunately, her career began to decline after this. She was married four times, and died nine months after her last one, which was with her vocal coach.

I was just watching "The Cheney Vase", in which she appeared. As you probably know, though she is probably most famous as a brunette, she was actually a natural blonde.
Just thought I'd toss that in there. She was a beautiful woman ... very distinctive in looks.
You did a great job! One thing ... is that a shiny skintone? Also, the tip of the nose might have to be raised a tad.

Yeah, I've seen a few rare photos with her blonde hair; I've only recently discovered her as I began to watch old eps of The Addams Family a few weeks back.
I'm not a fan of shiny skintones; I have the hack which makes bodyshop lighter, so I think that is exaggerating the skin highlights.
Yes, she was stunning...
Thankyou for the feedback, I was beginning to worry no-oone would reply... And I'd refuse to post her without a second opinion.(:
I'd worked on her since that photo, but I think I'd ruined it, so I went back to that.
Here's some in-game shots
I can see quite a few things that need touch ups... Mainly concerned with the profile/Three quarter view. I think I have to make her bridge thinner too.

Lovely choice of a face to sim :)
First thing that strikes me as not right is that her face is too sharp - this happens when you over-sculpt the features, making the face go all angular and distorted. Best thing to do when you notice this is happening is to blend the whole face, or just problematic features, with one of the default faces. I think her mouth are good, but her cheeks and chin need to be smoothed out.
She is a lovely start, though :)

Update! Finally! haha.
I really like this version, but the thing is it is so sculpted that it looked completely wrong in-game. I really don't want to combine it with the Maxis faces because I'm worried I'll lose small details which makes it look like her, you know?
Sigh.

Still too boxy you may have to smooth things out and then try again using a skin texture rather than relying only on facial sculpting.

I have made a Morticia too, last year, in fact the whole family from the sixties. But I can't make textures for faces, so I settled with smoother faces but less resemblance.
Your Carolyn, on the other hand, is immediately recognizable!
Bodyshop could need something like a "smooth edges" tool...
Anyway, here's my Addams post in the movie section: http://www.modthesims.info/m/showthread.php?t=463843

Good job, it looks like her but I agree I think she is over sculpted. It makes her look ugly when the real person isn’t. I think she needs smoothing somehow, especially around the chin area.

It may be some time until I am actually able to work on her; At least not until after November, as I got a new laptop and am currently sitting some major exams.
But your help is appreciated I was wondering if there would be a way of smoothing out the face in milkshape, but I don't think I have the experience in modding to do it; My attempts at dress meshing have all failed.
