View Full Version : How to edit objects and change file name at the same time?

Is there a program that I can edit my custom objects AND change the name of the package file? SimPE just seems a bit too daunting. I really love how the Sims 2 Categorizer works as it's very intuitive, but it doesn't seem to allow me to change the names of the package files. I have a LOT of custom content and want to keep track of which files I have edited, while at the same time organize my downloads folder. If Sims 2 Cat does have this function, does anyone know how to do it?

You can change the package file name in windows explorer the same as any other file/document. =)

Yes, I am aware of that. It is, on the other hand, impossible to do while said file is being used by a program, say, Sims 2 Categorizer, and it's very inconvenient to have to exit the program and rename a file every time I edit one, as I have thousands of files. Hence my previous question.

Depends on the program. Delphy's Download organiser and teh Clean Installer will allow you to change filenames while the program is running.
