Alright, I feel ridiculous asking about this. I was trying to edit a gameplay package when I realized I don't have an editor button in s3pe. Why not and how can I get one?

Editors are resource-dependant; by which I mean that you might have an editor installed for _XML resources, but not one for CASP resources, or ITUN resources, or whatever. So - the reason you don't have an editor button is either that you don't have a resource selected, or you don't have an editor installed/set up correctly for that type of resource. And I can tell you how to fix it, if you tell me what type of resource you're trying to edit (I presume XML?).

Also, moved to modding discussion since, well, you're modding. :)

Yes, It's an _XMLTo edit a _XML you can either add a text editor of your choice in s3pe or you can export it and edit it with your text editor.

I haven't set any text editor and i still can edit _XML, way to do it right click on it and at the bottom you have "notepad" (on windows).

Also the later versions of s3pe no longer have the helper *buttons*, it's all via the right-click context menu or the Resource menu at the top. This change was made in order to support those people who might have varying numbers of external editors for a resource type.
