I'm trying to download a .package mod, so I followed all the steps of adding the Mods folder in documents, and deleted the cache and thumbnail files, but none of the .package mods are working. I have the no intro mod in there to help testing to see if they were work, but I haven't managed to get it to work.

Here's my info:

My Sims 3 Folder image is here:
http://www.modyourpanties.com/hosting/35506_120514035036Sims 3 Folder.jpg

I couldn't get everything to fit into the image, but the only things missing from the image are:

tslus.bin BIN File
Version.tag TAG File

My Mods folder image is here:

My Packages folder image is here:

Any help would be much appreciated. :)

Could you turn off file extension hiding to take the pics again? It's in the instructions - Organise -> Options -> View.

I turned off file extension hiding like you asked, here's the new images:

The same two files didn't quite fit in the screenshot:
tslus.bin
Version.tag

Just to be clear: when you click the "Documents" icon under the Libraries heading, it also goes to your D drive?

Well, I used to have everything on my primary C drive, but I was running out of space, so I started saving most of my stuff on my D drive, including all the games I install and their documents. So no, the documents that's listed on the left side bar of my images isn't the same Documents folder that all my Sims data is saved on or installed on. That's the documents folder of my C drive. But the game was installed and entirely saved on my D drive, so it should work fine still, right? Could it be that I need to re-install the game onto my primary drive for it to work, or does it not matter? Is the game or the mods getting confused about two folders being named the same thing? Should I just re-name the Documents folder on my C drive?

Ahh, ok.

Documents isn't a normal folder - Windows has to be told where it is, basically. In order to move your Documents folder, rather than just copy- or cut-and-pasting the folder, you also need to tell Windows you've moved the folder. The easiest way to do this is to click your name in the Start menu, find My Documents, right-click, properties, location tab, and change the location there.
Be warned that if you change the location to a path which already exists, the existing files may be overwritten. So, I suggest renaming the Documents folder on D to something along the lines of "Documents backup", then changing the Windows Documents location, then cut-and-pasting the contents of "Documents backup" back into D:/Documents. This will also fix your CC :p .

Sims 3, and any other programs which automatically save into your Documents folder, will have been saving into your old Documents folder on C:. So remember to rescue any folders you want from that Documents folder (such as your TS3 Saves folder) before starting the move.

I got it working, thank you very much for the help whiterider and Ghost sdoj. I just ended up moving the mods folder into the C drive Sims 3 Documents because I couldn't get it to recognize the D drive Documents as the new my documents despite my messing around with the save location property like you were suggesting. But, it all works now, I have my save files intact and the CC is working. Thanks again guys!

So I was reading through the threads on here and not sure if it applies to the problem that I am having so any help would be appreciated!

My package files aren't working. I followed the guidelines on MTS to get them in the correct place but they are not working in my game?
