how do you delet fences without pets ep?

Because i have a fence i want to delet and i sea it rched it and everyone says click ctrl butdosent work any ideas?

Have the fence tool selected, and ctrl-click and drag along the line of the fence (like you're building a new fence along that line, only holding ctrl at the time) and it'll remove it.
