HELP!!! Sims 3 Launcher and Game Not Working

I've been having some problems installing custom content, from the Sims 3 store, to my game;however, I had still been able to play the game with my previous Sims 3 content installed. I've tried just about everything. Recently the launcher hasn't been working. I keep getting the "the Sims 3 launcher is not responding" message whenever I move to the downloads section. I've found a way to play the game without the launcher,but all of my custom content from the Sims 3 store is gone-all of it. I really don't know what to now. I consider myself fairly computer savvy,but if anyone can give me hand with this I'd really appreciate it.

You might have a corrupt sims3pack in you download folder, this will make the launcher crash, try moving all sims3packs to another location.
About the missing cc check the DCCache folder, there should be files called *.dbc, *.ebc and to other called dcc.ent, missingdeps.idx
The second one might be related to the first.

You could try clearing "user data" this is done by renaming The Sims 3 folder in documents to something else, then start launcher or game and a new one will be made, game will then be like the first time you started it, install a few sims3packs and see if they are ingame.
If they are then there something wrong in the original folder.

Thanks! It turns out it was a corrupt sims3pack, I weeded it out and problem solved.
