Sim pausing before every action

I installed pets yesterday and even though my game runs perfectly. my sim pauses before every single action. she can go through a door without a pause, but she can't talk to anyone or use any item without looking like she's thinking long and hard about if she wants to.
Like I said, game runs great. No graphic problems and she has no custom content on her. Anyone ever had this issue?
