View Full Version : Is there a way to make custom Turn on's/Turn off's?

Since I started playing TS2 it has always bugged me that there is such a limited selection of turn on's and turn off's. I know that once you get BV and I think FT you get more but I've always wanted Turn on's and off's for specific eye color, like there is for hair color. So I have finally decided to ask, is it possible to create custom ones or would it be far too difficult or even impossible?

I'm not a programmer but I feel like if it was possible it'd be done already since we have lots of custom jobs, majors, etc. But I hope its possible I really like the eye color idea! :)

As far as I'm aware, the only way to have 'new' turns ons/offs is by replacing those already in existance (tunaisafish replaced custom hair with alienism).

From what I know, the only custom turn on/off is the Alienism, provided with several fixes, here on MTS: http://modthesims.info/download.php?t=318327

Oh, there is another one (also by Tunaisafish) but it's located elsewhere. But yes, you and Katya are correct, you can only get new ones by replacing existing ones. Same with aspirations, I think, and lifetime wants. They've all been looked at (some of use would *love* a creative aspiration) but found to be not-doable.

Will this mess up my current chemistry with people?

No, because the custom hair one is broken and didn't work anyway. What tunaisfish did is, replaced a non-working turn-on with a working one. So, win all around! Without it, all the custom hair was good for was filling the turn-off slot of really promiscuous sims who weren't turned off by anything. Your chemistry should, therefore, work better with than without it.

Caveat: I have this idea that there's a combination of early EPs in which custom hair worked. For most systems, however, it is a broken and useless turn-on.

From reading the description on tunaisafish's mod, apparently the custom hair turn on was broken after Bon Voyage.

I had no idea that the alienism turn on/off existed! Very cool, will be useful in my game. Thanks to all of those who mentioned it, especially M.M.A.A. for the link :-)

Does anyone know how exactly it works? What are the conditions for a sim being tagged as an alien? A pollination technician parent/grandparent? Or something else?

I think its an alien hybrid, i.e. the result of a male being abducted (or female if you have a mod for it).

lauratje86, if I remember correctly sims are tagged as alien if they have the default alien skin. Unfortunately it won't work for sims using custom skins in a PT mod, but should work with default replacement skins.

Ah right. I don't use a PT mod with a custom skin, so that should be fine :-) I just wondered how it checked for it. Green skin works well for my purposes, so I hope you're right! :-)
