Despite having played the Sims for a few years, I've never played the Strangetown neighborhood extensively until recently. I don't know if this question should go under help but I figured I'd throw it out here and see what happens.

It's about the Smith family. I don't understand why but they don't age. At all. It can't be the lot because I had Johnny move in with Ophelia and he didn't age while she did. The rest of his family don't age. I have to go onto SimPe to keep their ages on track depending on how many days have passed.

Any ideas?

Do you have a no-aging hack, or do you have the aging-off cheat on? This is weird. Try using the FFS Lot Debugger, and possibly Cyjon's debugger as well. This way, you might be able to fix Johnny. But anyway, most of the characters in the Strangetown that came with the package are messed up - they're missing DNA and/or have extra DNA. Vidcund is messed up as well - if you have inteenimater and he gets pregnant, he'll turn into a teen and then start talking like a teen after he gives birth. Loki and Circe Beaker are kinda glitchy as well, but Nervous Subject is fine, and so are Pascal and Lazlo.

The missing DNA doesn't affect things like aging, the Smith family aged normally in my game before I found out about the missing DNA.

It sounds like you need to take out any aging mods if you have them and see if that helps.

Do you have inteen installed? I have inteen, and I had the same problem. The way to fix it is to click on the active sim, and get their biological clock out. An alarm clock should move somewhere on the ground near them. Then move their biological clock into their inventory. It should age after that.

The same happened in Veronaville as well.

This happened to me too for the whole of Strangetown. I didn't realise it was inteen, thanks :)

Inteen wreaks merry havoc with Strangetown. I play the Beakers with it, they get a notice EVERY DAY that they're about to age up.

I have other issues with it having to do with the fact I have combo packs (like the no-fail birth control, well, failing--but it's never happened to my teens and YAs, just adults getting up there in age).

I'm going to try the inteen thing since I have no mods that should affect age or what not.

The exact thing happened to me today! I was testing to see if my pregnancy controllers went back to normal or not, so I played the Beakers, and I was confused when that popped up!

Hi new here, sorry to jump in without introducing myself. I love Strangetown! How did you change the characters, if at all?

I changed everyone's appearance, and much more. So far, I have been playing the neighborhood for a month and am still not bored.

Ms. Tify, have I got a thread for you:

Strangetown is the only premade neighborhood I've ever felt much attraction for. It's a shame it's got so many issues; and that a popular mod like Inteen didn't/wasn't able to work with them rather than exacerbating them.

I had a similar problem with aging in the Smith family. For some reason their daughter(Jill or Jenny..I can never remember who is who) would not age. Finally I started taking hacks out and I tracked it down to a hack I downloaded that let zombies and vampires age. It was conflicting with something else and was preventing some of my sims from aging. No idea why it was some and not all but I'm happy I tracked down the problem. I've since taken a hiatus from downloading hacks/mods.

Have people tried inteen with a cleaned fixed version of Strangetown, like the one from Tarlia?

Strangetown is definitely corrupt as shipped.

Strangetown is, by far, my favorite premade 'hood too. Not fond of the desert terrain, but the characters drew me right in, from the beginning.

Tarlia's cleaned templates are awesome. Little things, like a fixed Smith family tree, and proper last names given to the "Singles" girls, please me no end!

Thanks for the link, Peni, I will have to add my story to that thread! I enjoyed reading what others have done with the characters. Usually, I just make up my own in CAS but the strangetown residents are so much fun to mess with!
