My saved game is GONE!!!

I have spent HOURS, days even, revamping Hidden Springs to my liking. Then I get an error when I tried to save it during gameplay today. I tried every way I could think of to save it because I didnt want to lose the little progress I had made today (mostly just gameplay, no world editing or anything) So I went to "save as" to see if it would save that way and when it asked me if I wanted to overwrite the file, I clicked yes and it still didnt save so I just quit. Just now when I went back to play, my Hidden Springs saved game file is no where to be found on the main menu. I am just sick. Is there anyway to recover it??!?

Look in your saves folder. If you are lucky, there is a version by that name with a file extension .bad and another with .backup. If the backup is there, remove the .backup extension from the file and see if it works. You will lose the progress from the last time you played, but you will have the game.

If not, then I'm sorry but as far as I know it is gone.

I had the same problem with a corrupt file, and i spent 3 hours making a house, and two families; one of 5 and the other of 4. I got so mad!
