Twikki Island...no room for my Sim?

Haven't played Twikki Island as a destination for years so I don't know when this glitch (if it is one) occurred but now I have a Sim who bought a vacation property on Twikki but every time he books a vacation I get a pop-up that says there's no room on Twikki Island at the moment.

When I went into Twikki to look around I saw a suitcase over the purchased vacation property. I don't know how to get my Sim to it though. Do I use "Book Vacation" like always? That doesn't bring up the vacation property in the list of hotels. At the moment I have sold the property back to the community as I couldn't get there anyway. I have booked the vacation taxi to come tomorrow but I am afraid it will again tell me there's no room on Twikki. What do I do now?

Have you tried going into the now-unowned lot, and seeing what you find there? Are your other destinations still all right? How about other sims than this one?

If you back up your neighborhood first, you can test out a number of things - change the lot zoning, run the game problem FAQ, even delete Twikkii and then add it again, probably - and see if any of them help or give you more information.

You can delete it and start one again? I thought once deleted, its gone forever.

That'd be one reason to back up your neighborhood first, yes; delete it, and find out! If it doesn't work, and you have a good backup, no harm no foul.

That'd be my last resort, though - I'd fiddle with the unowned empty lot, poke around in some of the other lots, try to send other sims to Twikkii, and run the game problem FAQ before doing anything as extreme as that.

Thank you Peni, you always seem to give a reasonable answer to my questions. I will do everything you suggest and see what I can find.

I checked all 45 families (all family members too--whew!) and no-one has that deed; not the default family or any other in the hood.

Then I brought back her husband from the Sims Bin...no deed there.

Then I went to Twikki and tried to demolish the owned vacation lot. Game would not complete deletion and I had to quit game.

On clicking lot, pop-up says to send a member of the "default family" to property. I assume her children and husband would be the default family and they don't have a deed.

My 'hood is quite inter-related. I will now make a brand-new Sim, move him in and see if he can access Twikki. But I now believe that destination is borked and has been since Abby died with the deed in her inventory.

BTW: I no longer remember if Abby died a normal death or, um, had an accident. Would an untimely death account for the missing deed? That's the only thing I can think of at this point although I tend to keep my more appealing Sims and Abby was one of those.

My brand-new Sim was able to visit Twikkii Island and have a normal vacation. That's a great relief. Still don't know what happened to the original deed though. Someone suggested a new deed can be ordered by phone. Will check that out although I have never seen that option.
