My DVD-player temporarily broke down, so I decided to reinstall the sims 3+ expansions in the digital version through Origin. I get a graphic thing I cant solve (see pic). I tried to use a legimit software to detect if my drivers needs updating, but I seem to have the latest version.
Never had this problem with the sims 3 on my computer and with CD/DVD version before. I currently only have the base game installed. Also. I play other games like the Sims Medieval on high settings, and it works fine.

Some thumbnails are missing and shown as stripes, both sims, objects in inventory and thought-bubbles.

Sorry about the long list of specs here, I just copied what I got :)

Sounds like a driver problem. Open Catalyst Control Center, select the "Information" tab in the menu on the left hand side, then select "Software" option. Look for "Catalyst Control Center Version" or Driver Packaging Version numbers. What are they?

Ok.

Catalyst Control Center-version: 2012.0405.2154.37503

There are new drivers out:

I think you have Win XP 32 bit, these are the drivers for that:
http://sites.amd.com/us/game/downloads/Pages/radeon_xp-32.aspx

Drivers for other versions here:
http://sites.amd.com/us/game/downloads/Pages/downloads.aspx

Try the new drivers and see if that helps. Be sure to uninstall the old ones first through the Control Panel in safe mode before you install the new ones.

Thanks but nope, that didnt help. I used "driver sweeper" to remove every trace of older drivers and installed the latest one. Still everything in the sims inventory is "stripes" . Thumbnails too. Everything else (sims, houses, object, world) in game looks fine and normal.( I tried to install a custom object and it´s thumbnails shows weird too )

I saw this issue a couple of times with 16 to 32 bit conversion, My CPU is a 820 with almost exactly the same specs. Your manufacturer should have offered Windows 7 @ 64 bit for free , you might trial it to see if the hardware is splitting your file and then not sticking them back together right. I have an ungodly redraw time after several hours of play but it gets the thumbnails there correctly.
