I had been playing Sims 3 pretty regularly on my computer, but then got a virus so I had to pretty much wipe everything and my computer was completely fixed after that.

Recently I decided to play The Sims again, and loaded it back onto my computer and for some reason the entire game now looks like this image below. I've tried the patches, tried without the patches, and my system requirements as far as I know from the list here are well above what is required of the game, but just in case I put everything on the lowest setting.

I also removed prior Sims content, and did not load any custom content. I also deleted the cashe.

I'm afraid your specs aren't anything like well above what TS3 requires - most notably in the region of graphics; the graphics chip listed there is totally unsuitable for TS3, and while it's possible that you have a switchable GeForce 525M card which isn't showing up in dxdiag (that is an option for the more expensive models in the N7110 line), even that isn't sufficient for TS3, especially not with all patches. I don't like to jump immediately to the conclusion that underpowered computers are the cause of problems; however in this case, if you're using a totally clean install of TS3 with no mods, old user data and so on, then I'm afraid hardware is the most likely culprit.

I do have a GeForce 525M card in as well, for some reason it didn't show up in there but it's showing up on every other dxdiag. The weird thing is, I've had that graphics card in all along, and it ran perfectly until the most recent patch.
