Hello so I recently re-installed my game and my objects wont sit on the tables they fall on the floor. I know this is due to a patch for the pets game as I have researched it before and managed to fix it however now that I have re-installed my game do to difficulties, I can't get it to work.

I tried the TSR RigFix and got the granny2.dll file (many of them) and none of them worked. I even got many that people said work for them but it did not work for me. In the instructions it says that you should get a message popping up saying that the granny2.dll file was found and if you wanted to use it however this message doesn't pop up for me.

I tried choosing a folder and managed to get a list of files and attempted to "fix" them however when I go back to the game it does not work.

HELP!!!! :faceslap:

This is a one time fix.
I used Granthes' Rig fixer, never an issue. See that stickied Custom content fix for Pets on http://sims3.the-prof.net/forums/index.php/board,11.0.html ?

Do you mean you've never applied the fix before and are now only getting back to playing Sims 3?
or
The CC that has previously been fixed by the TSR Rig Fixer are still not working today?

I have the same issues, unfortunately.
Downloaded the rig fix program, ran all my packages over it then went to test, deleted cache's and started the game but problem was still there :(
It's not just CC, it's sinks, appliances, deco, pants, etc by EA that came with the base game and expansions, stuff packs.

Edit: I want to clarify I used Granthe's rig fixing program, I have now downloaded TSR's wonder if that'll work.
Will keep you posted.

Edit 2: Running it through TSR's program didn't work either, very frustrating!
I even did DCCache & DCBackup.

The Pets updates or any updates should not have rendered EA-made game stuff to have this issue (if I remember it correctly). The only things affected were 3rd-party custom content made by Simmers.
If EA made stuff that comes with the game is the ones with the issue, then you have more problems than what the RigFixer is programmed to do, and is not related to this topic. You should then do a full Uninstall + reintall + repatch. Game Help:TS3 Uninstall

If you still have this problem after doing a clean uninstall and reinstall, then please start your own thread, Artemisia84.

Same goes for you, peanutboy612.
If the objects affected are not custom content, you should also do the Uninstall.

Does the Granthes' Rig fixer only work of package files? because I don't have any package files. I used the rigfix right after it came out when the pets update was released and it managed to fix all of my custom content that wasn't working properly. But recently I was having issues with the game so I reinstalled the sims games and now when I play the game none of the custom content tables or chairs or sinks work properly (same as what happened with the pets update) so i tried the rig fix again but for some reason i can't get it to work. It says it fixed all of my files but when I go to the game, the problem hasn't been fixed. I was told on another forum that you dont need to see the pop up that asks you if you want to use the granny2.dll if you manually put it into the rigfix folder yourself so I guess that isn't a problem anymore however it still doesn't fix my custom content!!

Do I assume you never bothered to click on the link and read the thread? Not even the first page?
The answer to the Sims3Pack question is addressed by the developer himself in the first post of the thread. And in fact, another member had also confirmed the RigFixer tool also works on *.dbc files (ie installed Sims3Pack content), a little bit further down on the 1st page (yes I had to reread the thread myself to refresh my memory to answer you, mind you). Try it and then let us know if it works in your case...if not, you may need to read all 7 pages to see if any issues you encountered have been address or members have tips to resolve it.
If you still need help with the tool, register and ask Granthes directly. He is the best person to answer any questions you have about this program. But read the posts first, nothing frustrate modders more than having to answer questions repeatedly that has been answered repeatedly.

When you said you used the rigfix tool again, you're referring to the TSR version, correct? And not Granthes' version?
A lot of folks have issues using the TSR version, and if you prefer to use that, you have to ask them for support as I don't know anything about how that tool works.

If some of your EA content is being affected, you most likely have a CC item which contains an override of the EA _RIG (probably included by accident). Once you've found and either removed or rigfixed the item in question, the EA content should also be fixed.
