Hi, Im looking for a similar thing like the package editor in sims 3.

I want to find something that I can group all my downloads together because my game is lagging in sims 2. Could anyone help and give me a step by step way to do it as Im really clueless to this sort of thing. thanks

There is no simple way to combine multiple packages in Sims 2. You would need to understand each package very well to even understand which ones can be combined and which can't.

You can try using the Compressorizer to shrink them. Some of them may not like to be shrunk, so you should keep the originals until you are sure they are working properly. But it's not the number of packages that lags Sims 2 as much as it is the total size of your Downloads folder.

This was why the idea of combining multiple packages was rejected in Sims 2 when it was requested at the SimPE forum. It would reduce lag, but it would make it impossible to remove anything from the game without having to compress all the files again, leaving out the one you didn't want. The payoff was not deemed to be worth the effort.

In Sims 3, the game was not designed to read multiple extra packages as easily, so the lag was greater with fewer packages, and combining them became more useful.

There's also the problem that many packages use local BHAVs, which means that there could be some confusion if they were combined.
