Cant Patch

Hello,
I am sorry if this is in the wrong place or already answered.

I am trying to update to patch 1.36. I have uninstalled and re-installed the game. I have up to showtime on dvd's and sweet treats on digital download.
I have deleted caches, removed the mods folder.
have uninstalled origin and done digital back ups
re installed origin and no different
can run the game without the launcher with no problems (mods in and out of the game). removed the user files etc.
have manually tried patching my game and yes I did download the right one.
used the Sims_3_Patch_Log_Viewer and there is a file error mssg
"applying DFCupdater for GameData\shared\DeltaPackages\p03\code_version.txt
error: err0031-invalid file found
computer is able to run sims3 ok , game version = 1.34.27.01600. Used CCleaner and cleaned things out. Tried to find the rtpatch.log" manually but with no luck. I have followed the instructions for How to restore files the patcher complains about. (renaming the launcher.exe files) read a lot of ideas etc and have a headache. I just want to install the latest patch so I can install the latest stuff pack I have already downloaded and paid for.

You've missed out the most important number in that - the very last digit - the Region code. game version = 1.34.27.01600?

From the Patching wiki:
Choosing an Incremental from the wrong Region or the wrong "_from_xx.xx.xx" file is how most "Invalid File" errors occur.So the base game is on DVD? I still need to know if you have the region 1 or 2 version (or something else).

You've uninstalled the FULL game cleanly, including Origin, following our Uninstall guide? And brought it back up to 1.34, not 1.36 directly with the Superpatcher? ie followed Alternative method from Game_Help:TS3_PatchingEPSP.

the last number is 2. yes the base game is on dvd. and no I didnt follow your uninstall guide, I just deleted everything from the control panel then re installed via the dvd's . when that didnt work I uninstalled origin and re installed it. I will give the superpatcher a go. when I tried to download it a couple of days ago, the link didnt work and I was getting cranky at that stage so I just left it all but will try your other suggestion. thank you for helping out

I also believe in educating instead of simply spoonfeeding. ;) For next time, your Incremental patches for Region 2 are on the 2nd column of this table in the Game Help:TS3 Patching:Patch_Download/Current.

Thank you Ellacharm3d for your help and educating me in the ways of Sims 3. The Superpatcher did the trick and I am now downloading and installing the latest stuff pack and will run that then put mods and packages back in . thanks again Modthesims for being here.
