View Full Version : Weird painting--is this a graphics card issue?

So I was browsing through the catalog today and I noticed a certain Maxis painting had an incorrect picture in the detailed description (thumbnail looked okay in the catalog); the shape of the painting was fine, but instead of any texture or artwork, it was covered by some strange green code written on a black background. Very Matrix-y. I thought it might just be the catalog photo that's wrong, so I placed it in my sims' house, but it still looked weird. This happens in my game sometimes and fixes itself when I open up the recolor dialog, but that didn't work either this time.

No other painting seems to be affected. I have a very low-end integrated Intel graphics card that I can't upgrade any time soon but I use the other methods suggested by MTS2 to make do. I keep the graphics a tad higher though--shadows, reflections, texture and sim detail ++. :|

What happened to the painting? Is it the card or is something wrong with the game files?

A picture, to show what we're dealing with? Is this when playing Sims 3 or 2?
And, please post Game Help:System Specs.

Is the system OK when watching DVD movies or online videos?
