View Full Version : Stopping a custom town from imploding after 3 generations - tips and tricks?

So I have the Nrass Overwatch and Storyprogression mods going and I've very very careful about what mods I plug in (no heavy duty modding) and everything thing was going ok. Then a good simmer friend of mine got me Generations as a present. All smiles, I install new toy and BAM it was like the end of the world, game wise anyway. Overwatch gave me 260 error messages then the game melted down, shutting itself down.

I was kinda expecting this to happen (newer expansions are always such a bitch) and made a back up of all my custom CC.

I was super patient and took out all the custom furniture files and stuff then I tried to use my old town with generations again. Same melt down reaction.

So I've made a fresh new Twinbrook with my overwatch helping keep it in line and ever since I installed Generations my town keeps blowing up after 3 generations of sims have past on.

I don't know what to do anymore. My town keeps blowing up and I can't seem to stop it.

What I know about the problem is this: none of the major files is corrupted (resource files etc) and none of my mods are conflicting. An error message related to my simpoint balance keeps popping up before the crashes tend to occur.

If you guys got any ideas I'm happy to hear them.

If Overwatch is throwing you that many errors you need to post on twallan's wiki to find out what the problem is about. Do you have the version of the mods that correspond with your patch level?

Have you tested a vanilla game to see if the problems keep happening?

What does the "simpoint balance" error say that comes up just before the crash?

Have you checked the help section on Crashes?

I have tested the vanilla game, it only happens with generations. The error that pops up says I have no simpoints when I know damn well I have a few hundred kickin' around. I'll poke around and see if I missed any built up crap files floating around. My overwatch is fine.
