-----

When I followed all the instructions the build glitter went away and the intro video skips like it should but no CC? I have only tried using sims3 packages and tried installing them through the launcher when the other way didnt work. Riverview won't even show up.

Also, After I tried the instructions for installing CC my game is now sometimes telling me that they can't verify my cd - I bought it legally and everything.
What am I doing wrong?

Files that end with sims3pack go into the Downloads folder and are then installed with the Launcher. They won't do anything in Packages.
Only files that end in .package need to go into the Packages folder.

ahhhh
thank you so much i knew i overlooked something

--------
just checked in game

I removed the sims3packs from mods and see that they are already in my sims 3 downloads folder. My launcher says they are installed too but still nothing in game, not even stuff downloaded from the store

Launcher says that all those sims3packs are installed but none of them show up?
Are there any files ending in .ebc and .dbc in a folder called DCCache?
And are there files ending in .package in a folder called DCBackup?
And as you say that you've got Riverview, too, is there something in a folder called Installed Worlds?
I know that the Launcher sometimes does that with single files, but so far I've never seen this happen with ALL of them.

Yes,
In DCCache there is: dcdb0.dbc, dcdb0.ebc and missingdeps.idx
There are a whole bunch of files ending in .package in DCBackup
Riverview.world is in InstalledWorlds

Thanks for helping so far

I guess this is what you should try next then:
The Launcher index may have become corrupted. See FAQ Game_Help:GCCTSU3_Redo/DCCache

You can easily do a test with that single file on a NEW User folder to see if Launcher and the game can both see CC if that is the only thing installed.

And Launcher installs has nothing to do with the /Mod folder. Launcher deals with Sim3Packs.

If the single file works by itself, means that you have to reinstall your Sims3Packs onto a NEW user folder, especially if the guide's step on removing the *.ent & *.idx file does not work.

Thanks,
That didn't work either so I re installed my game and patched again - now it works fine! I must have done something...

Thanks for your time
