View Full Version : Help: Can't install sims (sims3pack files)
5th Aug 2012, 10:00 AM
Hi again, i have another question/issue:
Since a while, i've been unable to install sims in sims3pack format. After launcher "installs" a sim3pack sim file it says that i need to update my game and im running on patch 1.36
I tried unblocker and decrapify tools, clearing cache files and disabling mods but nothings works.
Any help? :(

Do you have any Expansion/Stuff Packs?
Though since a few patches ago there shouldn't be any need to update them but well launcher seems to think otherwise sometimes.
Since the change to not update them any more, one need to look them up one self or get this:
The Sims 3 Patch_Downloader (http://linna.modthesims.info/download.php?t=409829) to be able to get the updates.

Mmh... i found out that the oldest Stuff Packs and Expansions are out of date. Is there any other way to update them without "Patch Downloader"?
PD: I found a thread on thesims3forum called *Incremental Patches* to update SP's and EP's manually. Is that a safe way to update them?

The incremental patches are just as safe as the superpatcher.

Thanks Ghost, imma head up to the forums again and wish for the best! thanks!
BTW: Do i need to update "patch by patch"? i mean, if i have World Adventures 2.0.86 and then update to 2.2.8 until 2.9.10. Is it possible to download and install directly the newest patch skipping the other patches? :P

You don't need the Incrementals anymore, just use the SuperPatcher and patch to current in "one go".
Link is in Game Help:TS3 Patching:Patch_Download/Current.
And if you want to update the EPs to their last patch versions, I have those in the Archive page. Game Help:TS3 Patching:Patch_Download/Archived
Launcher repeatedly prompting you to update, was the last update incomplete? Can the game itself start?
Back to the original issue...
If you cannot install something via Launcher, means the Launcher index is corrupted. Do the steps in Game_Help:GCCTSU3_Redo/DCCache, after you've patched.

Ah thanks ellacharm. That might be helpful to solve my launcher issues. Many thanks! :)
