joining pre-existing greek houses

I've heard that you're supposed to be able to call greek houses on the phone to join, but i don't have that option at all. Second of all how would you meet a person that is already greek in the community lots. is there any special feature you're supposed to look for (i.e. black jackets for the secret society). I have a girl who aspires to be in a greek house but i can't. Help please.

First off, make sure you have a greek house.

1) Click on your phone
2) "Greek House..." should show up
3) Click on it
4) Two Options will pop up
5) click "pledge" or something along those lines

Note: Frats and Sors are NOT community lots. You can tell if they are a greek house if they have a greek name. Now if you made a custom college, you might not have a Greek house on campus.

1. Your sims can only join and become a greek house when they move out of the dorm.

2. I have not gone to a greek myself, but I think your sims may have to be invited in order to go.

no you have to click on the phone, click on greek house, click on join.

some members of the greek house will come over for a while, you need make friends with all of the members (if you can stop them from running around). Then a pop up will tell you after you have met the requirements that you are now a full member of the greek house, then you have to click on the phone again and then on move to greek house, or something like that.

I've gotten two guys and two girls in the greek houses.

there is a greek house on my campus (good ol' Sim U) but that's what i'm saying, i don't have the greek house option on my phones in the dorms...

maybe you don't have enough friends
maybe the greek house is full
i think there are certain things that apply before the option comes up, do you have any phone mods? maybe they are causing conflict.

Well Kkai says you can't be living in a dorm and join.

i thought someone said that that wasn't the case but oh well. As far as a phone mod i have absolutely no mods (i dealt with one hell of a fiasco actually getting the game to play so i'm saying no to all hacks for the time being)

you can be in a dorm. i had a sim join a greek house from the dorm. if you cant get the greek option on your phone maybe the house isnt a high enough level to get more pledges. if you don't move into the greek house once you join it wont make any difference if you are a member or not though.

You don't have to move out of the dorm to join a Greek house. In fact, you can remain living in the dorm once you join.

In the game, the option to pledge a Greek house shows up in the phone menu. If you don't have any hacks installed, I don't know why the option wouldn't be showing up for you?

You can also join a Greek house by clicking on someone that's a member. Click on the member and the option for "pledge" shows up. The members don't wear special clothing like the secret society members. I suppose you could play the Greek houses so you know what the members look like and you'll know who your others sims should befriend.

I had the same problem with the Sim U college with my female Sim wanting to join a Greek House. She lived in one of the dorms and never got the option to join when I clicked on the phone. My male Sim in the same dorm would always get the option to join.

I just assumed it was some kind of Maxi's separating the sexes weirdness.

i tried to play the greek house once and it wouldn't let me because i hadn't moved any sims there. I recently moved a guy there and had him try the phone option. Still a no go. and there are 2 greek houses on campus, i would just assume that one is male and one is female...

I've actually wanted to create a greek house..but don't know how to do that. Anyways, definitely check your hacks to make sure none are making it work funny. Try buying yourself a cellular phone, also.

I know my boyfriend had a hack so when he clicked on himself, it was only letting him do two things..not all of the things like Streak and Freestyle. So hacks definitely can cut things out like that.

And once you call, they do rate you like the Private school head did. If you get the scores of 25/15/10 respectively, if I remember right, you will be able to join. You -can- still live in your dorm and be a member. And just click on the phone again to the greek house to go move to their lot. Basically like someone else said. What you could do, is use the search tool to try to find more help. I've seen other posts about this same basic topic that likely could be helpful.

Yep, you're right, one is male and the other female (at Sim State Univ.).

Wow, other than hacks, I can't imagine what wouldn't allow you to pledge via phone? I hope someone here is able to offer more suggestions. Good luck!

One of my sims just joined one. It's not about knowing the right sims, at least not until you contact the house.

You said that there was no one in the greek house, maybe that's it?. In my campus (Sim state U) there're 4 guys living in the Ulele-Something-Something house and 3 girls in the other, is it like that in yours?.
My sim (who lived in a dorm) contated them by the phone and then joined, but he did not knew any of them before.
My theory here is that a sim living in a dorm or a house can not join an empty greek house by the phone.

i don't know if no one is in the house or not. I just said that i hadn't moved anyone into a greek house (maxis won't let you) so therefore i haven't been able to play the greek house.

The game should let you play in a greek house from the begining. In the Tri Var house there should be 3 girls, Tiffany, Heater and Brittany I think. All those are maxis created sims that come with the game and start the game in that sorority, like the Goths start in Goth Manor, so check from the neighborhood view if those 3 are in the house or in the simbin.

I have the exact same problem bot my sims are part of the secret society but there has never been any pie link menu part saying to pledge to the greek house. I am playing with a Maxis campus there is a greek house there and I have no hacks in my folders I deleted EVERYTHING! (was rather painful)

there are no sims in my simbin and i don't think i've ever met them. i think that i don't have enough college townies yet...

I have to agree with you all here... I cannot get my sim into a greek house and I am playing Academie le tour... I cannot get the pie option up no matter how hard I try,, I would love for someone to come up with an answer. the only hack I have are the updated Siminator an a couple of updated carreers.. Please help

Ange1-eyes: There is no greek house in Academie Le Tour. Well not unless you make one, which you can do if you play sims that are living in off campus housing (ie not dorms). Then you should get a selection for "Apply for Greek Charter" when you go to use a phone or cell phone.

Another way to get your Foot in the Door to a Greek House.

Use the Phone. "Call" "College". Choose the Directory.
Click through the photos of the campus people. Under their name is their "Home" address. Look for people with the Greek House of your Choice as thier home address.
Invite that person over. And then you can click on them and "Join the Greek House".

see i tried that too. unless it's one of my controlled sims the directory will not tell me their address...this might be a bug in my game or something. because i recently moved someone out of the dorms and now i can't play dorms. someone told me i should be able to play the greek house from the beginning but alas, no can do.

One of the maxis university hoods doesn't actually have any greek houses (the one with a french name) so you have to take a greek house from one of the other hoods and move to your uni hood, then you'll get the option on the phone to call them.

Does anyone know how to move someone into an vacant greek house. I download two that look great and I can't get anyone to move in. I suppose I can go in and change the lot to a residential or dorm and then re-apply for charter, but was wondering if there is another way?
