I have seen listed online lifetime wants tied to the 4 new careers, but have yet to experience them in my game. How do I get a sim that has one of these lifetime wants? I was thinking that maybe the sim had to be made as a young adult to get them, since then the game is sure the sim is going to college, but I haven't tested this yet.

Also - is there a way to change the lifetime want of a sim using boolprop?

Fullcollapse - This is what the Prima Guide says:

"When an Aspiration is chosen -- or, in one specific instance, changed -- one of the Lifetime Wants associated with the Aspiration is randomly chosen for the Sim. The assigned Lifetime Want can be changed only if the Sim changes Aspiration (upon starting his junior college year). Lifetime Wants are extremely long-term and are very difficult to achieve. They usually involve reaching the top of a profession, reaching certain familial, popularity, financial, or romantic goals, or by maxing out several skills.

When a Sim achieves his Lifetime Aspiration, he receives 25,000 Aspiration Reward points, 10,000 Influence points, and is blessed with permanent Platinum Aspiration level! In other words, he gets a permanent perfect Mood for the rest of his life."

You have to be in college for this to take effect. You have to achieve Level 5 Influence capacity.

(This is found on pages 14-15 in the Prima Guide.)

As for boolprop, I do not use that cheat, so hopefully someone can contribute their 2 cents to the rest of your question.

I think the "in college" part is probably a typo. It probably means "a college graduate" with level 5 influence capacity, since you can't reach the top of a career while in college.

edited to add -----

Oh no, wait. Looking at my guide (hard to do while typing and holding a squirming two year old. Be impressed.) the "in college" and level 5 influence is related to being "Big Sim on Campus", not the lifetime wants.
And yes, the guide does list the new careers as possible in lifetime wants. I haven't seen one either.

Aaahhh, yes, Sara_dippity. That's why I referenced the pages... so someone else can translate. :)

In order to >see< the lifetime want, you need to mouse over the aspiration level meter (the part that's filled at the time) and it'll pop up.

Actually, you don't have to be in college. That part is an explanation of the "Big Sim on Campus" want. Being "Big Sim on Campus" means achieving level 5 influcence while still in college. (page 14 of the prima guide)

I have not seen any of these as lifetime wants yet either. Don't take this as fact, but I have read these don't show as lifetime wants, because this would be unattainable by non college graduates.

I use the college clock(think that is what it is called)from variosimmersto roll the wants of sims, whose lifetime want, needs changing. I haven't seen the new careers come up with this either. Could be, I just need more graduates. :)
