Help! I can't move out

I think I really messed up, I downloaded some hacks and objects and they didn't all mesh together so i took them out one by one, but anyhoo, I went back into the game and now my sims can't move out and find their own place. They go to the computer to find own place but then it icon just fades away and they start playing ssx. So now I have to break up couples in the house so one goes back to the neighbourhood screen then go there and get them in a house and teleport their spouse to them, then remarry them all over again. Geez... how do i get the computer working again without unistalling and reinstalling the game. Thanks for any help you can give me!

Are you sure you don't have any leftover hacks? What happens if you take out your Downloads folder? Do not delete - just move the folder to your desktop.

Try that and go back to the lot. You'll see a bunch of recolors missing but see if you can move them out now.

Yes i did take my downloads folder out, and still couldn't move out of the house, each time i put my cursor over the computer (the ones that came with the sims) not a hacked computer, the cancel, reset delete window pops up and up all the time. I am just wondering is there anyway of getting back the orginal computer and behaviours without re installing the whole sims and university paks? I'm kinda stuck here, This is awful to me as I play the sims faithfully all the time everyday... Thanks for any more help!!!

I figured out my problem! At least for now! I just went into SimPe and deleted all of the computer globals then restarted the game and everything was back to normal. I also downloaded the clean installer, what an awesome program!

This problem is happening to both my roommate (small neighborhood) and me (large neighborhood). Can you give me a step-by-step on how to do this. All I have used SimPe for so far is to update objects for University. Thanks!

I'm having the same problem as well. I've also tried moving my downloads folder to the desktop and was not able to fix the problem...

I had a similar problem, in where I couldn't move anyone out with either the computer or newspaper. I traced it back to the "Graduation No Move Out Fix.package" that was in my hack dir. Pulled that out and everything was fine. Never did run a test load with only that hack in to see if it's that all by itself, or if it is because it is conflicting with another hack.

Anyhow, I'd run Sims2Pack Clean Installer to see if you have that hack hiding somewhere (could even be outside of the download dir but still under the Sims dir), and then give it a run without it to see if it'll clear things up for you.

Thanks LePoseur! You are completely right about the "graduation no move out fix" being the problem. I just took it out of the downloads and started up the game. Everyone can move out now again.
