I accidentally deleted the social worker when one of those error screen things popped up. Is there any way i can get her back? There are more than a few children who live alone now that their parents died, and i dont want to resort to deleting them.

No. She's never back. Its been about 3 weeks (real time) and about 15 kids should have been taken away. But no dice.

First of all, there should be more then one social worker. Most of the time NPC's can be re-generated if they all die. Secondly do you have the Patch? I dont know if this would acutally do anything but it is always good to check. Third, are all the 15 kids that died on the same lot as the one where you deleted the social worker? The lot might be bugged. Move them out and try to see if the social woker comes when the kids are about to die.

Grow the kids up, then all your problems are solved! Teenagers can live on their own quite nicely. I'd be very happy if the social worker died... =P
