What exactly are you talking about?

You should be able to download pretty much anything.. Clothes, objects, hair, and so forth are all split into separate folders on the site, so it shouldn't be too hard to find.. Is there a specific problem, or error, perhaps, that you're getting when you try to download any non-clothes?

Also, if you don't mind listening to someone for a small request... Try not to use too many smilies or whatever in one post.. It just gets annoying to see countless smilies in one post, especially when they're the animated ones. *grumbles*

Thanks, and I hope you can figure something out..

It may also help if you typed your question in plain English, so that the older ones of us can understand what you are looking for. Sorry for being an OLD fuddy duddy. (lol)

On MTS2, next to every download, there is a "How do I install this" link. Why don't you click on that and that'll show you how to download and put that custom content in your game.

THIS site DOES. You will have to ask the relavent web site for help with thier downloads. MTS2 can't help with other web sites.

Could you explain that a bit better?

Do you want to know which files are which? Where to place each file? Or something completely different?

well, it's normally in the download folder, isn't it?

EmaleDreams

It's possible...
If so, it would be - for the most part - (With Windows XP) "<drive letter>:\Documents and Settings\Owner\My Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2\Downloads"
If it's to go somewhere else, then the creator will most likely say where it's to go.

Open "My Documents" go to "EA Games" TheSims2. in that folder you should have another folder called "Downloads" (if you haven't, make one) Put all your downloads in the "downloads" folder.

Catdog, if the game is active when you put your downloads in the downloads folder, you will have to close it down and restart it before you can see your downloads in the game.

No, you don't have to restart your computer at all. It may be best if you email me for more help so we don't clog up this site. By the way, do you live in the UK or USA?

Hi
You dont have to restart your computer. Just restart the game, and hair will show up in your CAS under the little star-icon where the customs are. Objects will be visible in the game when you buy them, first youl see the Maxis origiinal, and the recolours will follow, unless its new meshes , they usually have a picture for themselves.

Seriously, catdog.

Before you do ANYTHING... you need to play the game. You need to familarise yourself with the interface. You need to READ all the various FAQs scattered around.

If you help yourself first, then maybe you wouldn't get so frustrated and have to ask every little question. :)

Then why not do as suggested, and read up on some of the topics that may actually assist you in what you need? If you understand the basics about what you want to find, and what you're looking for, then it'll be easier on both you, and us, when you ask for it.
If there's one particular topic or item that you need help with, there's probably a thread about it already on the site. Use the search function at the top of the page. It's incredibly useful for everyone here. I use it probably every time I'm on the site. *grin*
Playing the game as it is won't familiarize you with the kinds of things that you'll want to add in.. If you want new hairstyles, then you'll require the meshes that are made in order to use the hairstyles in your game. The same goes for objects (new ones, at least, not the Maxis ones..) For any recolored objects, you'll require the CEP program thingy that some of the people here have created. Pretty much all of the starting points you'll need for the Sims will be found in the Support and Download headings.. There are even tutorials on how to create your own objects, hairstyles, clothing, and so forth, under Create.
If you take it slowly, and not try to rush through everything, you can learn what you need to do to get the customized items into your game. Just remember that everyone here has had the same problems before, and many have gone searching for the solutions before pretty much getting mad at someone else for trying to help them.
With the way you were asking questions earlier, it showed that you have played the Sims.. It was just that you didn't seem completely sure exactly how to ask for what you wanted.
I hope that this helps in some way. I'm not yelling at you (in the least. *grin*) just trying to help you on your way into being as obsessed with the Sims as the rest of us are. *whistles innocently* Soon, you'll have a nicely filled download folder, and you'll be able to help other new people in finding the ways to do things.
Have a great day!
