This morning I downloaded some new things and also added the pools from here. I went into my game and continued building a home I have been working on with no problems at all. I had to go to the store, came home, downloaded some "blushes" and then back into my game to build some more...I got to the neighborhood screen and it when I clicked on the home to continue building, it crashed. I went and took out the pools, and replaced the original files, and took out the blushes I downloaded...it's still crashing. I get to the neighborhood screen just fine and that's as far I can get..."any" house I click on, crashes. Could it be something new I "used" inside that house? Something I haven't used before?
Thanks

It sounds like something you added either altered or replaced something that was already present on your lot where you were building. This could explain the inability to load properly. Try putting your downloads file to 'Details' view, then arrange the files by 'Date Modified'. Take out everything you added at, and after, the point where it began crashing. You might then want to try running Clean installer on those and other downloaded files you have. Follow this link to some Sim Tools including Clean installer:

It could be some stray hacked object that was riding along in one of the blushes--uploads tend to include such hacks unless one takes pains to exclude them.
In the mean time, at the Neighborhood screen, before you click on the house, bring up the cheat console (Ctrl + Shft + C) and type:
boolprop enableTestingCheats true
then load your house. Just before it actually goes to the lot, I bet you get an error message telling you what exactly the problem is, and giving you three choices (Cancel, Reset, Delete, I think). I always click on Delete, and then it loads fine.
I then go through with CleanInstaller and clean out hacks I didn't download myself, duplicate files, and empty .package files, and then re-start the game.
So far, this has worked for me--hope it helps.

Oof, frustrating. I'd suggest going a little wider in the search. There might have been some things that came along for the ride with the other downloads, nasty, but a common problem. They might have been sorted by the game to another folder when you started the game up again. These stowaways are most common in sims and lots downloads, but can come from others. Check the 'Date Modified' field in some of the other folders.
I have no other ideas at the moment, but I'll be looking around, and perhaps in the meantime someone else will offer a suggestion. Sorry its not more help...
*edit* Two more thoughts...If there was any custom content in use in the lot you were building, and you had saved the game, and you took the downloads folder out, now it cannot not load the lot because it cannot find the objects to load. If that's the case, return the downloads folder and try the above advice.
You could try to package the lot you were working on, and then put it back into the game. This just might have a 'cleansing' affect on the lot.

is it with every house or just some...
cause i had some houses i had gotten of the sims exchange that were buged and caused my game to crash but only when i loaded those specific houses. so i just deleted those houses and then my system seamed to work fine.

orangeeyecrayon,
Yes, I understand its a very common problem with the exchange.

Well...I removed the neighborhood....it was one I made and the game is now fine. I'm wondering if it was something I had placed in that house I was furnishing. I used a few objects I had not used before. Can't SimPe find corrupt files? How would I do that? I don't know how to use it well.

You can use Clean installer. It will point out many problems with downloads for you.

Is this right!? It's food, but it's listed as a "career"?

TheLadyV, uncheck the boxes next to the items that say career... this will tell you if they are to blame or not.

Hmmm...it won't let me uncheck anything! Maybe I have a bab version? I thought maybe these check boxes should be able to be unchecked.

Does right clicking on them give you any options?

Yes....right clicking gives me move, delete, open, etc... but I can't uncheck anything.

Try to move all the items that say career to your desktop (or a different folder) and see if that helps. They don't look right to mee... I wouldn't be surprised if you have a faulty career hack that clean installer cannot interpret properly.
