View Full Version : Magnified ground covers

I've heard a few other people mention this problem, but none of them have gotten a response that helps me. All of my ground covers show up magnified to the point that they don't even look like grass/rocks/dirt unless I'm viewing it from as far up as possible; usually they look pixellated and choppy, just blobs of color. This affects both those that came with the game and new downloads. Strangely, the default grass cover is the only one which is exempt from this - it looks just fine. However, when someone else made it available for downloading and I tried it out on a lot, it was just as magnified. Can anyone give me some help?

Magnified pixelation of terrain paint tool textures.
I have the same problem.
All other textures and graphics look great.
Regular floortiles are not affected.
Currently I am still consulting with E.A. support on the issue,
so far without result.

Had that problem. What's your video card? I had a Nvidia 440 MX (something like that), but the groundocvers were all woogety. When I got a Radeon 9200, the groundcovers looked normal (and I could see cutscenes).

Maybe they are fixing the terrain paint tool issue with the upcoming expansionpack.
There is always hope.

I have that problem too, and it's DEFINITELY my video card. I got a spiffy new video card with a decent amount of ram on it, set the Texture Detail to high, and all my groundcovers looked WONDERFUL. Unfortunately that same spiffy new video card got fried in a thunderstorm a few days later, so now I am back to my NVidia GForce4 - the terrain paint is horribly distorted again.

The problem might have something to do with the amount of memory your video card has - that was pretty much the only difference between my new and old video cards, but it made a world of difference. Good luck with finding a fix!

Huh. I need *another* new card? (Grumbles) I've already had to update it once for this game ... can anyone recommend a good *free* card that I can download somewhere?
