View Full Version : Replacing townie skins

Note: I haven't really modded the game much so excuse my newbie assumptions.

I know that it is possible to replace townie skins after they have already been created, but I was wondering if it was possible to create a queue or limit facial features, skin tones, eye color, hair color, etc. in neighborhoods. Basically, where I come from is predominantly asian and I wanted to make my neighborhood for roleplay purposes. As most of us know, the game as no asian NPCs at all. Whenever I try to make my neighborhood, the random NPC generator keeps sending the typical random NPCs that are in all my other neighborhoods. Manually replacing npcs with SimPE after they have already been made is tedious and I haven't figured out how to replace the NPC thumbnails. Also, I know you can replace the default skins, but I don't want to NOT have the ability to create non light skintone sims. Maybe there's a way to influence the DNA of the random NPC generator?

Also, when I make asian couples, their kids come out looking pretty asian (unlike any other Maxis generated NPC). Is there a tool or a way to simulate the baby making process to make new npcs (as a shortcut to actually making a billion different asian npcs to fill my neighborhood)? If there was a tool that could simulate the in-game birth process and make packaged characters that would be really nice if anyone is looking to make a new tool.

In summary, I'm looking to make an asian neighborhood that includes work friends/random npcs who walk by/community lot npcs. Is there a way to do this?

Thanks!

*note: please don't flame me for this, I am not a biggot. I'm sure there are others who would like to create culture themed neighborhoods as well.

...Thanks, but I rarely post on forums because I do search before I post. I was asking if there is a way to influence the npc generator itself not the NPCs that have already been made by the npc generator. I already read that thread, I'm just looking for a more permanent solution.
