Icon problem and work problem

Im having trouble with working and the icons:

The work problem: When my sims go to work they never get changed for work, the promotion piece of writing never appears and they never get the money for the promotion, it also says that they have bought a friend home and then nobody appears and i dont know why anyone know how to fix this?

The icon problem: Some of the icons for things are missing like the "walk to" and the jobs and also the taxi one.

Any help with either would be greatly appreciated.

I'd like to offer a suggestion. After you re-copy the objects.package file, don't use the remote-controlled car again as it has been known to cause this problem.

He's right. Between having a RC car on all the lots I play and having boolProp enabled all the time, my game's a real mess.
