TEMPORARY WORKSPACE

As stated in the Disclaimer, all the "Modding InfoCenter" threads are created and mantained (and moderated) by JWoods and myself; therefore, no other users can start InfoCenter threads.
On the other hand, JWoods and I aren't expert in every field of the modding activity, so we greatly appreciate if other users want to give their contribution.

Anyone having the necessary knowledge, and the inclination, to create an InfoCenter article on a particular subject, is more then welcome to use this thread to post his/her contribution.

JWoods and I will examine your contribution and then we'll delete you post: this doesn't mean we have rejected it; simply, we don't want other users to rely on unconfirmed information. If we approve the article content, we'll start a new InfoCenter thread, clearly crediting the author.

When submitting your contributions, keep in mind the following rules:

The article can cover any subject, excluding mesh creation, colour options, UVmapping/texturing, package structure and related subjects. If you are in doubt, ask first. Are also excluded the subjects already covered by existing InfoCenter threads.
You don't need to give your article the exact layout of the InfoCenter threads: we'll personally fix it if needed. But remember that the InfoCenter articles are NOT tutorials, so don't post a full step-by-step procedure; the article is intended as an in-sight about a specific subject, and is supposed to be read by average experienced users that perfectly know how to "Save As" a package or how to "Open the GMDC".
Don't replicate information posted in other InfoCenter threads; put a link, insted.
You have to attach to the article the pictures that you think are necessary to explain some difficult concepts or steps; include in the text the images using the [ IMG ] and [ /IMG ] tags. Don't exceed with the pictures: the InfoCenter articles should keep a compact layout, for easier reference.
Don't include a PDF: we'll create it by ourselves after having edited/fixed the article.
When the article will be approved and posted, the Author will be responsible for the needed support, and (s)he will be asked to answer to all the questions related to the thread subject.
If the article contains information gathered from other user's posts, on MTS2 or elsewhere, you must properly credit the author.

Thanks for helping us in creating the Modding InfoCenter!

I still couldn't find the time to re-organize all those info into an Infocenter article...
The original thread is still HERE (http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=35769).

This forum is meant for posting original articles written by yourself :).

This thread is reserved for people that have a ready-to-publish article to be included in the InfoCenter.

I still haven't figured out how the game locates the right sound files, starting from the names in Text List. This a subject that can be discussed in the Modding Discussions: perhaps, putting together small pieces of information from many modders will unveal this secret :)
