If your are sick and tired of creating large mansions, bungalows, ranches, why not build super small houses just barely fit for 1 sim? No need to be big enough to accomodate parties....jus for 1 sim.

Screw that, just build a small lot. You don't even need walls.

Where / how'd you get a 1x2 lot? Smallest I can do is 2x2, and that required some work...

from what i understand, you empahtically CANNOT create custom lots, and apparently--this is hearsay, so dont yell at me too badly if i turn out to be wrong--apparently the 2x2 lot was actually Maxis-made, and included in the game, but just not available to players. Like various hidden animations and the like. So, i dont think the custom-size lots are going to be easly accomplished unless Maxis includes something in the Nightlife EP...hmm!......

People are "making" a 2 x 2 lot by finding a Maxis built house on a 2 x 2 lot, taking apart the house, then packaging the empty lot. The price of the empty lot varies depending on which house you choose, but it is always cheaper than the 2 x 3 lot.

Several of the houses in Pleasantview are on 2 x 2 lots. I believe several of the little houses in the area where the Caliente sisters live are on 2 x 2 lots.

Also, to answer the original post, I built a very small house for a single mother and her son. It's so small they have to exercise outside! I find it's very efficient, actually. They are both doing very well so far.

I have a trailer, 4 tiles by 8 tiles. The 4 corners are all diagonal, losing 2 tiles of space, for a living area of 30 square tiles.

That's the smallest fully functional thing I've built.

Guys, there are blank 2X2 lots to download from this site. I've been doing it for weeks. I started this reply before I located it but just search under 2X2. Great cheap housing.

2x2 is like any other lot, one can edit and even build on the road with "moveobjects" cheat on.

Well building the tiniest houses ever is not actually my goal, but I enjoy building on small 2x2 or at most 3x2 lots. Try checking out my downloads here at MDS2.
