I made a bowling alley last night where I had the bowling part on the ground level, and I build foundation around it using the boolprop constrain FloorElevations cheat. This makes it so you step down into the bowling area, and gives you a good view if you're sitting in the restaraunt... anyway, you get the idea.
I just loaded and tested it by taking a sim from home to there, and loaded ok for me. I don't have any custom content or hacks installed though...

Do you have any hacks or downloaded content installed? I know a while back (before NL) I was trying to go to the community lots in University and it would get hung in the loading process, forcing me to restart the game.
I removed everything from my downloads folder and tried again... worked. Something in there was causing the issue. If you do have stuff in there, try with an empty downloads folder... if you can load the lots, you just have to pinpoint which item is causing the issue.

Hmm ok, that's out of my little knowledge pool. My problem had something to do with one of the downloads I had, so when I removed them all it fixed itself. I've got lots that I used the cheat with and I tested them thoroughly tonight (bowled, got seated at the restaurant, etc) so I'm afraid I'm out of ideas... sorry :-(
Hopefully someone with a little more knowledge will come along and be able to help you.

Try having the stage free-standing (not connected to walls on the ground). As for the waterpark, try deleting your current lot and rebuilding it W/O downloads.

If you go to MikeInside http://mikeinside.modthesims2.com/ you can learn how to change your cheats file, so that you only have to type "f" to turn it on, and "f-" to turn it off... then you don't have to worry about spelling :) Mucho easier :D
