Sorry to keep doing this, but I am completely lost now. I thought I had it down, buying a new Geforce 6600 PCI Express, 256mb. But now I have read somewhere that I will need to download a "rivatuner". I have never heard of this and , frankly, I am a bit scared to download anything else. Has anyone heard of this and do I need it? I have not installed my new card yet. I'm not sure if I want to. Thanks.

Where did you read this nancyw41? Follow the directions that came with your card for installation. after verifying proper install go to Nvidia web site and check to see you have the newest drivers, (Just because you bought it very recently does not mean that the drivers have not been updated.) Then enjoy your game. You made a good choice in a card. I have never heard of a rivatuner, and unless the Nvidia instructions or web site tell you that you need it, forget about it.

rivatuner is basically for overclocking and tweaking your card. (dont do it -it will void your warranty and you can damage it if you dont know exactly what you are doing)

As billyd1000 said, just install per instructions that came with card and update drivers.

Oh, please help me! I am such an airhead! My card says it is compatible with Windows XP / 2000. I understand this to mean XP or 2000. I have XP Home Edition. But when I tried to install my card, I got a warning saying the card is not compatible. What to do now?
