In his desperation, Musaran had also opened up the escape doors for Candi and Donte's ground level. The two heroes knew they wouldn't have long to bail out if they valued their lives!

Candi: "Hey you!"

Donte: "Ah...my gem! We meet again!"

Candi: "So many things happening all at once!"

Donte: "I know! Arfaas is getting sloppy with his hysteria and paranoia. Musaran isn't our only irrational enemy now!"

Candi: "My Zeran teleporter isn't very reliable for long ranges. Think you can fly me down?"

Donte: "It's worth a shot!"

Alas, Donte was not about to battle to take the ship down in nothing but his underwear; and the two of them needed to find Musaran before he could cause any more significant damage!

On a hunch, they believed that Candi may have stored one of Donte's suits in the upper compartments of her old house. But would a new family have moved in to find it? They had to fly to Gerosha first and investigate.

Candi: "No! It' can't be!"

Donte: "Incredible. Nobody's been here in ages!"

It seemed almost unreal...the house could not have aged this quickly on its own!

The siding had been corroded by someone's malicious intent. The blinds to the front living room window were gone, but the house wasn't boarded up.

Candi: "Is...this a trap?

Donte: "Chin up! I'm the one dying of cancer here!"

Candi: "And I'm dying...of guilt!"

Donte: "You can do this, Candi! I've got your back now. Besides, never fight the enemy in only your underwear...remember?"

Candi: "Yes. Bible study. Long time ago."

Donte: "Just because we've lost our way so often, doesn't mean God is dead. We're superheroes Candi; but that doesn't make us gods. We can still look up to Him."

Miraculously, the door was unlocked! Why had there not been more thieves if entry was this easy?

Donte: "Sense any danger?"

Candi: "Someone's been here...but they're not right now! Let's grab the suit if it's here, before they find out we've been here!"

Donte: "Absolutely."

There it stood on the wall...the phone that had caused Candi so much misery for so many years! No service. As much as Candi wished she could smash it, she figured that the phone's inactivity was punishment enough for it.

Candi: "You. Phone. But it really is my fault, isn't it? I can't hurt you; you only did your job."

The air was different...almost...haunted! Candi's old bedroom lay bare, possibly looted by Miriam on her way out.

It was as if Erin were speaking from the grave, warning those who desecrated the exterior of the home that they had better not dare invade the interior. Still, Candi pressed on in her tour.

She knew that a carpet had been laid over the former wooden floor in the living room to cover up the blood stains left there by Erin on her death.

The bathroom had been cleaned, but the chair...the chair where Miriam had cut Candi's hair almost a full two years previous - still there!

She could not bear to torture herself any further! This walk back in time was agony!

Candi: "This is too much!"

Donte: "What are you talking about?"

Candi: "This house...the memories!"

Donte: "Then I say we get out of this nightmarish time machine and get back to the present day, shall we? We've still got that maniac Musaran loose, and Dirbine is at Arfaas' mercy!"

Candi: "I agree. Let's leave this house, and never come back!"

The two flew fast, but fairly low to the ground, so that Candi could lock on to Musaran with her centiprowl instinct. Sure enough, it didn't take them long to find their menace!

Musaran had made his way to the back of an office complex in Viron, where he wasted no time finding random victims!

Roger: (coughing) "Please! Don't do this!"

Musaran: "DIIIIIEEEE!!!"

Emeraldon: (in pain) "My hair grows back; but my back still aches! You sure you don't want me to stick around and help you, dear?"

Ciem: "I'll be fine, Donte! Just get take care of that ship! I...know what I have to do now!"

Emeraldon: "Right. Godspeed!"

In no time, Ciem was off to battle Musaran yet again, and Emeraldon was off to once again face the dreaded ship that had once held him captive. Candi feared for his life, but realized that if he died, it was only to be expected.

After she'd completed a Zeran teleport jump to the roof, she would have to find some other way to make it down the slope before Musaran finished having his way!

Ciem: "Gotcha!"

She managed to snag Musaran from behind right as his would be victim was freeing himself!

Musaran: "DIIIIEEEE!"

Roger: "Forget this, I'm outta here!"

Ciem: "Hold still, brute! I'm gonna get you out of this thing!"

Musaran: "DEATH to YOU FIRST!!!!"

Ciem: "Not today!"

Ciem: "No!!!"

He got a lucky move on her, and the monster grabbed her feet as they wrestled! Before she could think to activate her centilegs again in self-defense, he sent her flying through the nearest window!
